location: Castle of the Isle
time: afternoon
Before she got to Port Vale, Aster never worried about the weather and how that affected how she dressed and whether she needed an umbrella, that day. She made the mistake of walking around without even so much as a raincoat when it had been pouring out, and one of the locals had been kind enough to usher her under their umbrella. She found it so odd that humans chose to bathe twice a day, naked under a showerhead, but were terrified of getting wet with their clothes on under the rain. Then again, living in the sea meant that she was surrounded by water constantly. It made her wonder if she was constantly submerged in water, was she ever wet?
The semantics of it all seemed to occupy her thoughts as she wandered around town without a destination in mind. She blinked through the light shower, making sure to stand within the confounds of her umbrella, this time. The ruins of the castle seemed almost peaceful in this type of weather. She had to resist the urge to run in the rain and bask in the cool breeze, like she saw in those old Nicholas Sparks movies. Something as trivial as this rain made her miss her own sea.
She was a bit lost in her thoughts that she almost didn’t notice the woman trying her best to shelter herself from the rain by a small crevice with what was left of a little roof. “Got caught in the rain?” She asked. “Were you headed somewhere in particular? I can share my umbrella.”
