Being a vampire for four days
You guys, I'm on the placebo parts of my birth control pills right now and man do they taste funky. I'll tell you what they taste like: have you ever brushed your teeth so hard that they bleed? That's what it tastes like! I mean, my Minastrin FE pills do at least. First you eat them and I think they tried to make them taste like breath mints or something---something minty, spearminty....but it doesn't have the same consistency of breath mints (these are chewable pills FYI). It tastes like toothpaste. And I guess I never really realized that there was a huge difference in taste of flavor between breath mints and toothpaste, but man, I have discovered that there is. And this is what it tastes like. I'm assuming that the pills have some iron in them, which explains for the blood like aftertaste. There's a lot of iron in your blood (or there's supposed to be), which is why your blood has a bit of a metal taste. So when you're eating iron, that's why it tastes like blood. At least, this is what I feel like I have heard at some point in my life. Don't take my word for this.
Any way, it's not a big deal at all. But man, the aftertaste.
