she tries her best to restrain herself from giving the other a nasty side eye. but her feeble attempt fails, and she ends up glaring at the other in a way that’s not exactly menacing; if she could describe the look on her face, it’d be disappointment. 

“you’re kidding me, right? i expected better from you. kiss me thru the phone is definitely one of the best songs ever made. honestly... i bet jay park freaking wishes he could be soulja boy.” she shakes her head at the other girl’s complete and utter ignorance; the song they were talking about was a masterpiece.  “but speaking of jay park, how does your musical highness feel about his newest song? too bad nothing’s ever gonna top mommae for me.”

－“Taeyeon unnie…” She whined into the phone, attempting to shield herself behind a large tree, unable to peek out to see if the man that was following there was, in fact, still there. “I don’t know what I did… I just– why do people follow others like this? I just make videos, I’m not an idol like you…”

－Sighing heavily, Carey shrunk into herself, attempting to remain as quiet and invisible as possible. She held the cell phone to her ear, sighing softly. “Don’t get off the phone, unnie, please… stay with me on the phone.” Tugging on her lower lip between her teeth, she continued, “I feel safer knowing you’re on the other end. How long will it take you to get here?”

She was in a panic. Taeyeon knew how terrifying stalkers could be; the only thing more dangerous than someone who hated you was someone who loved you too much. Recollections of past incidents plagued her mind - a rough tug on her arm, her nearly slipping in her boots and the fear that no one would bother to stop him.

"I'm just around the corner," she responded, earbuds inside she could focus on driving, "Where are you? I'll stop along the sidewalk so you can get right into the car. It's okay. I won't let anything happen to you." Taeyeon was almost fiercely protective of the people around her. She was too weak to hold up on her own, that was her eternal flaw, but she made up for it how she could.
