about mind blocks; since I am now in a lecture that I don’t get anything from despite my capability of comprehending up to 80% of what being said. We become anxious of what we don’t know, at the first glance, stuff look complicated, out anxiety of the unknown builds a block, a psychological barrier, hindrance, between your mind and the content. Mind blocks distracts the mind leading to a loss in focus and prevents brain from establishing associations and working with maximum cognitive efficiency. So because of mind blocks, you can feel like an idiot while in fact all you need to do is melt down and break those barriers that resemble a stone blocking a water hose.
I haven’t figured out ways yet to do so, but I guess one of the first steps is to resist the procrastination that follows the anxiety, and being aware of the problem and the content.
Then the second step would be focusing on building associations, seeing the bigger picture, and relating to background knowledge. One big contributor to breaking mind blocks is growing confidence, that counters the effect of anxiety which makes the foundation of mind blocks. Once you destroy the foundation, the block will come down rapidly. Confidence can be grown by understanding, and the sensation of getting back in control. The feeling of regaining control is what boosts confidence and beats anxiety. For me solved examples is the best way to understand what the whole theory was about and quickly builds a sense of confidence inside of me. Once this state is reached, understanding the entire content becomes an easier task, as the mind starts working more efficiently and closer to it’s normal operating performance..
