9/25 “On Multimodal Composing,” the author is elaborating on composing in different writing spaces. Essentially, the space in which we choose to write e.g. (word on smartphone, or word on a desktop, writing on a notepad), merit different composing approaches. The author also duscusses the components of composing and how it is necessary to move through all those composing elements and spaces in order to more effectively compose.
There are consequences for not moving through all the literary spaces, it’s called limiting yourself and therefore, not reaching optimal composition potential.
Yes, composing may start on a pad, and depending on the type of writer you are, we might need to conduct it alone in a dark cave, sitting in a high school desk chair, with one well-lit candle because we need to achieve ultimate silence and seclusion in order for creative words to formulate. However, if we limit our spaces we limit our writing, so we might need to change the scene up to promote different type of thought. For instance, I can be suffering from writers block because I’m locked in my closed off room. Then, in effort to promote thought, I move to a bench overlooking the serine waterfalls at bushkill, #bushkillfalls......
.... because the open environment and flowing water promotes flowing thoughts.
Let’s also keep in mind if we change the space environmentally, we may have to change the medium or tool too.....

Try writing outside on a windy day, with dare i say paper. Just imagine how that would go if a gust of wind got ahold of those papers....

My point is, certain devices may be restrictive or less ideal in certain spaces, sooo we MUST advance and integrate with technology.
I love when the author says,

Sounds like to me, what the author maybe saying is our minds is multimodal.
Personally, I’ve been doing most of my writing on my phone. I’m always on the go, which also means my brain is always on the go too. If I receive a writing assignment let’s say a journal entry. I first get the information from class; my brain processes it. All the way until I sit down and write, I have this idea in my mind, and I’m traveling picking up all these clues, and ideas to better assist, or give birth to a spark which could trigger a cluster of well organized words I can throw together on let’s say a scholarly college paper.
Essentially my process is see something in the world, get inspired, create a mental vision, and jot it down, or voice memo it, or tell Siri to insert my message into a writing app, on my very convenient handy dandy...smartphone.
So I chose Steve from blues clues because Steve and Blue interact with the environment, in many different spaces, to accomplish their tasks collaboratelly with the help of friends.
Steve just needs to upgrade to a mini #iPadPro and #ApplePencil and he’ll be good to go.

From reading, “Women, Rhetoric, and Politics on Pinterest,” the author dives into how women compose on an online social space called Pinterest, and so happen to “engage rhetorically and politically.” However, I dont think it says just that.
From “unpacking” what the authors main purpose for writing, we may be able to conclude many things. One inference was to outline how certain multimedia platforms, can cater to a particular audience. In that “space” we can take on a voice, distinct to that space, and create an experience unique to the users tuning-in to a page within a social media platform.
Yes, we are creating unique spaces within spaces within spaces folks.
Bringing it home, Pinterest has been deemed a “womens” platform. Thus women can get together and have a strong pro woman voice, and still accomplish the main idea of pinning, which is the intended purpose of Pinterest.
Have a great debate about politics compare it to a picture of soil or a flower, or a potatoe, and also accomplish promoting a lovely ideal potatoe garden. You can meet people who share like views or debate on opposing views, yet still be friends because she has the page where you get all your diys ideas...😒.
Personally, I’m not one to use social media. However, I now use tumblr for class. My classmates and I have picked up our very own unique voice of rhetoricians, and make posts on class assigned topics. Our pages uniquely reflect our perspectives and views and we have the access to view each other’s posts, follow, like, reblog, messages. While still having a tumblr account and receiving posts of interest from the tumblr world, all in effort to collaboratelly communicate. Maybe you might not like my post, but you may like my tumblr roll....
