“No you didn’t.” yes, he did -- this man ( Nathan Ford, his mind always remembers everything he hears ) caught him stealing the painting. But in his defense! The painting can control  people and should be in the library. “I’ve never even been in italy. No, that’s a lie. two years ago I was invited to lecture at an university there, actually it was about a pretty interesting subject Quantum Entanglement -- you know, when particles are moving so fast that you cannot describe them independently of the state of others...” he started, rambling about the lecture he gave.

         “I know you don’t drink, so can I offer you some tea? Coffee?” Though she had already had a a glass of Firewhiskey before he came over, mostly for her nerves. He was a friend, one of the few she still had that were alive, he at least deserved to know the truth. She was  already half way through the kitchen before waiting for his reply.

How's Eliot's hearing? He's always hearing "distinctive" sounds, but he's also been .05 inches away from explosions/gunshots.

i think it definitely deteriorates but i feel like eliot’s got pretty decent hearing. even if it’s a little harder to hear stuff than it had been when he was a young man. he’s on high alert ALL the time. he’s always straining to hear something, something that might indicate that something might happen, something bad. i think as he gets older it’s definitely not going to be great. and eliot definitely relies on all of his other senses a LOT to try and make sure he isn’t surprised by any attacks ever, but i feel like, currently, it’s okay. it’s not like it was when he was 18 and just joined up. but. he’s not deaf. if people are whispering across the room he definitely can’t hear them and sometimes if he’s not actively listening things are a little harder to understand and he might need people to repeat themselves, but it’s pretty alright.

"If you had just let me knock them out..." Jemma started, before dropping her head against the window. She doubted she could fix this car without new parts. Or maybe a new car to replace it altogether.

"Well, alright," she said after a few seconds, having come to acceptance, "Let's find a place where to hide far from the car, then." If Mack had been there she'd have suggested pushing the vehicle out of sight but frankly, between her size and Nate's age -not that she'd tell him that- she didn't want to take responsibility for what might happen if they tried. “Since I doubt dogs will be following us any time soon, I’ve got fries and tea too so at least there is that.” The positive outcome of reaching to grab food in the middle of running and shoving it in her bag just in case.

Today was a good day! Someone has tossed out the fat and bone of steak. After clawing at the bag, he had managed to tear it open in order to reach his treat. The bone had taken him only a few minutes to eat, which left his licking his chops and feeling thirsty. He had curled up against the dumpster to nap in the shade. But then the sun moved and he was cooking under his fur.

When the sun had finally gone down for the night, the air cooled but he still hadn’t found anything to drink. In his search for food and water, he had accidentally stumbled on a mother cat who left his nose scratched and bleeding. Licking his nose was the best he could do, but it still hurt. Laying down in a doorway that didn’t seem to have a lot of foot traffic, he decided that he would have to hope that tomorrow would rain and he could drink from the puddles.

There was no denying that they were valuable, though - in fact, paintings like that were pretty much priceless if you found the right buyer - and, after the Gauguin heist last spring, she had plenty of contacts in that field, but on this occasion even the prospect of a big payday could not distract her from the allure of something so beautifully shiny. “Tell me, does the blue moon of Josephine have enough ‘name recognition’ for you, Mr. Ford, or would I better off taking my proposal elsewhere too?”
