Commission of Yen’fay for @mindofchonsin
Thank you for working with me :D
💚 It was a struggle to hold her gaze, but Yen'fay managed somehow, though he could have done without the barely perceptible trembling in his hands as he extended his invitation to the charming ex-Exalt. "Lady... Emmeryn..." He said, voice unsteady and hushed. "If you... find it agreeable, I, erm... I have two tickets to a theater production I have heard much about... W-Would you like to witness it with me, perhaps...?" Red faced and thoroughly embarrassed, he awaited her response.
“One of the shows?” Emmeryn asked, studying his face. She’d not thought to attend any of the shows, but found herself easily warming to the idea. The idea of sitting in the dark next to Yen’fay wasn’t a bad idea either, so it was with a certain surety in her choices that she agreed.
“I do believe I would like that. Does it start soon, then, Lord Yen’fay?”

In all honesty, there were many people he could have asked to accompany him. His social circle is vast and all encompassing and if he really had to, he’d still be excited to go on his own -- it’s his very favorite place to vacation after all. However, what he said he found true. Yen’fay seemed like he could use time to simply relax and thoroughly enjoy himself. So, the invitation was extended in the hopes that he’d be able to do something nice for someone else.
💃 He's still unable to bring himself to dance in front of other people, but tonight, in the quiet castle courtyard, it was just him and his young friend. Yen'fay smiled pleasantly, giving a slight bow. "Inigo, may I have this honor?"
The courtyard certainly lacked all the energy and excitement that crowded the ballroom, but in a way, he found it better. In his youth he’d almost strictly stuck to practicing his steps under pale moonlight surrounded by nothing but greenery and he’s reminded of that now, even with the addition of a quiet melody filtering out from the distance and the company offering him such a courteous bow. Inigo smiles as he returns the gesture. “Nothing would make me happier, dear friend.”
🌿 "Ah... Little Miss? You wouldn't happen to be here alone, would you?" Yen'fay furrowed his brow the thought that someone could leave one so young to fend for herself in a hedge maze was a troubling one. WHERE WERE HER PARENTS...
Maria craned her neck to look up at the man, blinking at him for a moment. He looked troubled... was he worried about her? It was true that she was alone, but she’d long grown used to that-- but then again, there was no way for him to know that. She flashed him a quiet smile to try to comfort him, her hair bobbing as she nodded.
“Yup! But it’s okay-- I’m not lost or anything, though; I came here alone.”
[ shift ] "I'm sorry. Was that presumptuous of me?"
"It was.” Jakob affirmed, the ghost of a blush left along his cheeks after he’d regained the ability to move. It wasn’t like the butler to freeze up upon seeing someone moving toward him like that, but it had happened. Perhaps he’d just become too comfortable around the other man.
“I wouldn't expect anything else from you.” He replied, now taking a challenging tone of voice. He moved his closer, barely a hair's breadth from Yen'fay, a smile forming on his lips. “And what, praytell, must you presume of me?” Gesturing toward Yen’fay’s silvery locks, his shoulders shook with a slight titter. “Not a hair out of place on your head.” How was he supposed to return the favor?

“Why doesn’t he open his eyes?” she says. “He looks ready to kill a dude, like Ryoma, and he has an armor like Ryoma’s... He also wears very weird clothes, like...”
She gasps, suddenly. “Did you kill Ryoma?! Why didn’t you tell me!”
When she wakes up, there is a small vase of flowers on the nightstand beside her bed, a yet-hot cup of aromatic tea, and a hand-penned note reading, "I hope the day finds you as well as you have found me, dearest sister. May we never part ways again. I love you."
It isn’t as though Say'ri has any other sibling, but the note still catches her by surprise. Even then, she’s overjoyed by the kindness of it. She should have woken earlier, that she might have surprised him first. Her brother had always been so much more refined in his taste with regards to the finer arts of life.
With a happy little smile she sips at the tea, and plots what she might do for him in return. Perhaps a gift - or perhaps a celebration in lieu of one. A day spent together at last would be wonderful. Forcing herself to sit and enjoy the rest of the drink lest she forget the sweetest part of her morning in her haste, she stared into the cup as she added together all of the parts it would take to concoct the best day in the world.
