We're very close to the next chapter, and a lot of people have expressed their expectations about Donovan Desmond and his powers, specially about a possible revelation that could come up, so I wanted to express my theory as well... I know a lot of people consider Donovan can read minds, not only because of Melinda's fears and comments, but also because of his scars, physically located in the same area where Anya uses her headpieces, it could be clear that he was under a similar procedure, however, to me, it's impossible to believe he can read minds, and have Twilight even alive at this point, so this is my theory, which could make sense, without discarding other theories or intervening with the plot: I believe that a clinical procedure could not have the same results in adults, as they do in children; at younger ages, the body is susceptible to a major resistance, endurement, therefore, it could also have higher probabilties towards change, that's why my theory is that if Donovan can read minds, is probable that his gift is not as sharp as Anya's, whereas Anya can read minds clearly, Donovan could only read fragments, enough to have him in alert all the time, with glimpses of others' thoughts, but not enough to have Twilight's mission and identity comprimised, maybe that's why Melinda is so afraid of him, because maybe during a few moments together he could've caught something from her, enough to make her uncomfortable... This would explain why Twilight hasn't been caught, but why important figures have surrounded them (because there are theories that even believe that he set Melinda and Sigmund to spy on them, which could make sense, if he was under suspicion, but not fully exposed so far)...
