mind-shattering-mistress:
The Mindbreaker grinned widely. There was a slight twinkle in her eye as she happily explained.
“It’s kinda’ like gettin’ gassed by Scarecrow. But I’ve got some specifics. Usually my mindbreaks don’t kill people. They are, however, a lil’ harder to recover from. That’s because some of the visions are kinda’…” Mareike paused for a moment. She put her thumb on her lip and searched for the right term.
“Not somethin’ that should be seen by people. I can control ‘em to not do that, an’ make people see what I wanna make 'em see. Usually I leave it up to chance, but a personal touch can be fun.”
She leaned down to stare at the target with a malicious grin.
“Say, if I made that cigarette into a snake? Yes or no?”
“I’m afraid I’ve never partaken, myself.... I know. ‘Unfortunate’ for me.” She scoffs at her own witty, whimsical use of words, eyes giving a quick roll behind the lenses of her mask. “But I really don’t need weapon-grade hallucinogenic drugs to be reminded of things that I don’t particularly like.”
River already had enough physical reminders to last until she was dust in the proverbial wind. “Afraid you’ve lost me on the whole ‘not something that should be seen by people’ thing though, darling... I didn’t think mind-shattering hallucinations could be enjoyable. You know, with the whole ‘shattering’ aspect and all.”
The assassin shrugs, chuckling as she strolls leisurely further along the roof, stopping just before the alley lead out to the sidewalk. “Tell you what, Sunshine.” River patted the edge, and the grin just oozed palpable from her words.
“You do that and manage to get that fool to skip his ass down over here, and I’ll give you 50 points.”
