It's at least one floor below, whatever happened, and if anyone was hurt the sound doesn't make it up to them. Students are already going about their business, sticking their noses in their laptops again. But scarab is still simmering, ready to activate the armor at her signal.
So Alice gravitates to the only other person who reacted like she did.
"You noticed that, too? I don't think it was just books falling off the shelf."
There's an apologetic note in her voice, because she knows this sounds weird. But maybe not to her. I'm trusting it's not weird to you.
