Another great question this week from ( @breakthru_DC )
Hashtags are a crucial part to any social media post, they really can make or break a post. While hashtags can be effective over using them can really kill a post. Most people prefer around two or three hashtags per post. We all know that person who thinks 25 hashtags on their Instagram picture looks #cute, #pretty, #beautiful, and #confident but in reality we all don't like that person. If you keep the hashtags to a minimum as well as essential you should be golden! As for Facebook the same rule applies, while many complain about hashtags on Facebook they really are effective! Hope that was #helpful!

A great first question asked by Free Mind Operations! ( @FMOperations )
We know maximizing Facebook likes can be a large task, so getting the people who did like the page to interact is a challenge all in itself! However one of the very best ways to increase involvement amongst your fans is really simple! The key to involvement is to ask questions! Most people just really love to talk and share trivial things about themselves, their hobbies, their likes, and especially their dislikes! Try to add a little question or chance to share an opinion at the end of each post you make. This will get your fans involved and sharing some ideas on what you post in no time!
If you're still looking for some ways to increase involvement here is a great article to check out! ( Increase Facebook engagement )

3 Social Media Musts for the Independent Musician
Being an independent musician has added struggles in a perfect world you’d make music and collect a paycheque. As an independent musician you need to record and market music, book shows, manage social media, and more. It can be overwhelming, but these 3 tips will take the stress out of managing your band's social media.
Sweet, and Simple Names
Every social media account requires a unique name. Obviously, your band name should be your first choice, but it might not be available. Aim to have the same name on every account so that crossposting will still work. This also makes it easy for people to find you on any platform.
Consistency Is the Best Strategy It’s called social media for a reason—posting content consistently goes a long way in starting conversation. This doesn’t mean post about your shows all the time. Posting about your interests and passions other than music will engage fans and encourage conversations. Sparking a conversation will always be more effective than yelling into the void.
You Do You, Hunny
This goes with posting consistently, but nothing looks worse than an outdated profile. Make sure every account is active—there is no point in joining a social network you don’t intend to maintain! Invest time where your interests lie. No one will fault you for not having a Pinterest if that’s not your forte. For those unsure, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are a great starting point.
