Sterek AU: When Stiles left Beacon Hills to go to college, Derek swallowed down the crushing heartbreak and pretended to be happy for him. Several years later, Stiles is back in town and they find each other drawn together again. Derek is now faced with the same dilemma as before: should he continue to let Stiles have a good life away from the tragedy that follows Derek wherever he goes? Sterek AU: Best friends since childhood, Derek and Stiles have always been inseparable, from kindergarten, to college, to astronauts in the same crew. That is until an injury forces Stiles to remain on Earth while Derek takes off for a year long, dangerous space mission. When the news come that Derek has disappeared in space, and is therefore considered dead, Stiles feels his world crashing down around him.

But this isn’t the end. He knows deep down in his gut that Derek is still out there, alone, waiting for him. Loving him back. Stiles is going to find him, even if he has to search through the infinity of space for the rest of his life.
