In the momentary shack world, I wanted to go further. Build a fortress tower in The Nether instead of immediately just leaving there, and maybe obtain some light stone. I could surround the tower with fire and thanks to a buried tunnel, still be able to exit and enter it again.
For some reason I thought of doing all this without taking into account the way Ghasts really like to congregate in this place. Like they REALLY congregate here.
I was constantly being shot. I didn't have a bow.
Building upwards, trying to secure against this assault, I found that this whole mission was harder and less achievable than I expected.
It was a disaster.
I had my fire tool with me still, but seen here is the portal that while I was in it had to explode. I had to go back for health boosts several times, and I wasn't going to be getting that from the armed zombie pigs.
As promised, I started a system of travel underground.
It wasn't enough. I wouldn't be making much fire of my own, I wouldn't get any light stone, and I wouldn't even be able to really walk around out there. That was it.
The lava flow behind a barrier in my branch mine turned out to be quite useful. It functioned today as my personal obsidian fountain.
What you do when you want to create a frame of obsidian, and you don't want to wait out the slow operation of a diamond pickaxe, is gather lava buckets, go to your local wall of water, and then:
This is why that water stream was there, from earlier.
It's coming...
Just a reminder that Minecraft Alpha 1.2.0-1.2.6 is one of the most unique version places in Minecraft updates ever.
