Project Oakview | The Painter Shop

So, clearly... I did not do this daily. But I felt like doing more of it today. So I did.

if you're confused, Project Oakview is a project wherein I build the Plains village of Oakview, in the actual game of Minecraft. I have a map I made here, and the first building, the tavern.

But for now, the second building is the painter's shop. I have no clue who the painter fully is at this point, but their shop is right next to the tavern!

Painter's Shop | Exterior

The small painter's shop is made mainly of oak; oak logs for a frame with oak walls, the planks placed vertically instead of the usual horizontal orientation. Contrasting the wood is stone bricks, as well as smoothed stone, warmed and sanded and smoothened down. In actual SoB, this would likely mean the smooth stone is darker than the normal stone, but alas.

The painter mainly does commissions for the rest of the village, but also sells powdered pigments to the general populace, as they are easier to carry around and store for longer than pre-made paint. It also gives the buyer a choice for what kind of bond they'd like to use for their paints.

A clearer shot of the interior from the front right corner. The jars of powdered pigments are closer. A lantern hangs above the pedestals of the jars. Hanging near the door is a green tinted glass chime, which warns the painter of entering customers. Opposite to the workspace in the back is a reception's desk, with a small gold bell on it.

(As a note, I personally view the painting of the figure by the workspace to be a portrait of the local Archivist.)

There are three drawers to the right, with buckets of green, red, and blue paint on top. Among them is a glass cup of water with more brushes.

The painter's skylight, requested specifically when they were building their shop. It is inlaid with ornate woven patterns around the rim, while the center of the skylight canonically is a large circle, in representation of The Great Abyss. You can see three small paintings on the wall that is behind the reception's counter.
