Some fun details in Alcazaba, starting in Al-Rashid Park
Map that shows current location
Some worldbuilding about the park and the city. I was reading a lot of Arabian Nights at the time so everything is named after Harun Al-Rashid. Fox sleeping under the sign. All foxes in this city are muslim btw, because every time I open a new mosque it is immediately swarmed by foxes
Statue of one of the great heroes of the city, next to some anti-homeless benches
A view down Al-Rashid Street, where you can find a hotel named after Ar-Nia, one of the cities other famous Caliphs. You'll love the Hotel Caliph Ar-Nia. What a lovely place!
Yellow Wind Ridge, The Thunder Monastery, and the Little Thunder Monastery. During spring of 2025 I read an unabridged Journey to the West and it rewrote my brain chemisty in a way that nothing since Les Mis has. I had to build something inspired by it
At the foot of the Yellow Wind Ridge we have Moonside Square. There's nothing to say about it I just think it's pretty. A reminder that all of these buildings have fully decorated interiors
I forgot to get a picture of the outside of this church but the inside is so pretty. Alcazaba only has one church, and (so far) three mosques.
Speaking of Mosques. The Haydee Pasha Mosque, also known as the Mosque of Roses
Next door we have this Kashyrian Theatre. I like this one, because when I build in that greco-roman temple style I use Quartz and Brick, but because this is a fake temple for a theatre, it's all made of wood.
Finally, The Grand Mosque of Alcazaba. Considered a holy site for followers in Kashyr
A view from inside
There's a lot more I could show from this city but these are just some highlights.
If you liked this thread please let me know and maybe I'll do more of these in the future. I've got a half dozen cities plus dozens of small towns and villages, ranging from 4/5 buildings for the smallest settlement to almost 200 buildings in the largest city. I don't do this for any profit reason or anything I just love to create
