I’ve wanted to do a drop-pit to bedrock in Minecraft again for a while now, and finally just went with it in my latest world. That world is actually kinda frustrating, because I started it to see the new changes and got a relatively boring biome with nothing new going on. Instead of logging out and trying more seeds I decided to stick it out, thinking I would break into the nether and get to other biomes that way. Welp... the new version seems to have removed a lot of lava spawn so after not finding enough to work with, I more or less gave up on it.
Yesterday I figured I may as well use that world for the pit since I have a lot of resources stashed there. I found no lava at all in a 9x9 square. Meh... oh well, drop-pit itch scratched and man, the extra section where the newer deepslate is, I don’t think I’ve dug through that before. Makes it a lot harder cuz it breaks slower and that layer really doesn’t seem to have much going on in it at all. But I found a second geode while tunneling to my other bedrock-level mining area, and turned it into an amethyst farm, so that’s nice?
tl;dr: wall of text about something I could have just not done but long-haul covid and brainless insomnia sucks
