A fully charged attack from a smite 5 diamond or netherite axe will one-hit kill zombified piglins, skeletons, and wither skeletons (Java Edition only)
Barter for fire resistance potions before fighting blazes
A golden boot won't calm a brute, so shoot the brute to steal the loot
Don't try to shoot ghasts if there are zombified piglins nearby. My mom did this, died, and almost lost 2 enchanted golden apples. Luckily there were no piglins nearby and I was able to retrieve them
Bring a lot of cobblestone to pillar with. I had to use fences and chests to pillar up after getting my mom's stuff because I forgot to bring actual blocks
Block yourself in a 1x2 space with the chest on top before opening a bastion chest, then wait for the piglins to not be angry before leaving your safe area
Bring lots of blocks to the bastion and bridge over to kill the brutes with a bow or crossbow
Bring a crossbow and fireworks to kill multiple piggies with one shot
Bring milk if you plan on fighting wither skeletons, but be warned: milk removes the wither effect but it also removes good effects such as fire resistance
If piglins don't want to give you ender pearls, go to the warped forest (blue biome)
Have blocks in your hotbar in case you spawn on a fallen gravel patch. You can't access your inventory in a nether portal
Pillaring and bridging will remove most of the challenge from the basalt deltas
Hoglins spawn at any light level
You need to breed hoglins to complete the Two by Two challenge. You breed them with crimson fungi
Bring a saddle and a fishing rod, then head to the warped forest and get a warped fungus, then go across the lava on a strider
If you need string, don't kill striders. They usually spend their time in lava so chances are it will burn. Barter with piglins instead. Plus, you'll feel less guilty
Lava doesn't completely negate fall damage unless it's 3 blocks deep or deeper
Blaze rods can smelt 12 items, whereas coal can only smelt 8
If you have an elytra, flying in the nether isn't recommended. My friend hit a wall, fell into lava, and lost all their stuff
Watch out for hidden drop-offs. I died a few days ago to one. Luckily, I left all my valuables in a chest and used iron tools (minus the diamond stuff I found in a bastion)
If you're planning to go somewhere unknown, and you're not playing keepInventory=true or hardcore, use iron, because there's a chance you will die in or near lava and lose all your stuff. The only exception to this is if you have an easy way to get emeralds and maxed out weaponsmiths and armorers
Overworld time still passes in the nether, so if you spend at least 3 days in the nether, once you go to the overworld, when night falls, phantoms will spawn
Soul speed boots wear out over time as you nyoom across soul sand/soil. You should also enchant them with mending and unbreaking
In my opinion, the biome difficulty rating is as follows from easiest to hardest: warped forest, nether wastes, soul sand valley, basalt deltas, crimson forest. You should probably take my opinion with a grain of salt, but most people will agree that the warped forest is the easiest nether biome
