(spawn hotel built by myself and @anonymousvillain)
As the server develops (and apparently my game has automatic shaders now?) I thought it might be cool to make a sort of realm newsletter, that way something's happening on the Minecraft side blog and people's creations can get recognized :]
(more pictures of spawn, staircase by @caeb-ruu and community lava farm by @ghostsofmemories)
Most everything on the server is still under development since we're all in survival mode, which means it's getting cooler by the day as more new builds are made.
I'll start from my area, I've been working on a lot of stuff around my base, including a wizardly enchanting building (got full bookshelves, you're free to stop by and enchant your stuff!) as well as a mine and xp farm not pictured here, but I hope to contribute some more to spawn as I go on. :3
My nearest neighbor is @anonymousvillain who's working on a cool layered sort of treetop base design (which the creepers unfortunately enjoy).
The area we live in is a bit of a trek from spawn so I made some docks and added some paths that connect up to one @trouble-warning made to their base from spawn. The jungle scenery around there is really pretty.
Speaking of, here's Trouble's hobbit hole! Its a very cute design, complete with a gravestone for the unfortunately diseased Kiwi the parrot.
A similar distance from spawn in the opposite direction is the house of @eatingsuperglue, a pretty build with a little storage shed in the back and some donkeys. :]
Probably furthest from spawn is @ghostsofmemories, he built a very long path to his base which has an impressive farm and a lot of cool soul torches/lanterns.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the first ever Whimsical Realm Newsletter, so let me know what you think! Apologies if I forgot any builds or people, but hopefully this is a good showcase of some highlights. I'm not sure when the next one will be but I'm considering doing them monthly, so if you have anything that didn't get featured here that you want to be shown in a future one (or want to opt out of being included) let me know. I'll probably open this blog up to submissions, so if you have any screenshots of your own from around the server feel free to submit them :). If you're a member of the server, I recommend checking the realm stories tab on Minecraft if you haven't already, you can post on there about server happenings and occasionally catch one from other members.
The server is still quite small right now, but it's always open to new members, you're welcome to join if this newsletter peaked your interest. There's still a lot of interesting stuff to explore not pictured here.
Should I start doing like progress update things/photodumps and other posts about the Minecraft realm every once and a while?
Yeah that would be cool!
No that would be weird

I'd mostly do it about my projects and community stuff but if you wanted to be featured you could let me know (somehow my game has shaders I don't remember installing? maybe it came with an update? Idk but things are very pretty :3)

Since the new update, I've been taking a lot of screenshots of stuff in the Minecraft realm I play on. I really think that the terrain can be so beautiful and eerie sometimes, especially when there's a little bit of something built, which I didn't make. Anyway, here are some of my favorites in no particular order.
Heyy, would any mutuals care to play together in a Minecraft realms if I set one up? It would be an ordinary survival with an add-on or two from the marketplace to make the game feel a little richer.
FARMING - adds dozens of new crops and recipes as well as more animals to populate the world.
FURNITURE - adds crafting recipes for many indoor and outdoor furniture and appliances as well as variants to mix and match to your liking.
that's about all I'm adding but I'm open to more ideas.
