A Minecrafter Shield for Martyn aka @inthelittlewood!
Blazon: Vert, on a chevron Or an eye much higher on 4 triskele purpure, 3 acorn sprig senois leafed sable.
This was a lot of fun. I don’t know why I didn’t do it earlier.
There are many tree type charges, and even a few for a grove or forest. But I decided to use acorn sprigs as a cant—a visual pun—on “little” (in this case interpreted as young) wood. The leaves are black to represent Martin’s bandanna. My first idea was to have the chevron be black, but this violates heraldic tradition (the Rule of Tinctures) and didn’t look good. I feel like the green and yellow is more representative of Martin.
I also included the purple eyes as a reference to Martin’s involvement with the Watcher lore, and I put them on triskele to represent coming out of a portal/extradimensionality. I had to go for a compromise because the actual "Watcher Eyes" just wouldn’t be familiar enough to an outsider for them to immediately be able to clock it as “oh that’s an eye” outside of the context of a face.
