We back in the Swamp babyyyyyy, a redraw of an old favourite of mine.
Like the original work, we have:
Daytime with tree,
Nighttime with tree,
Daytime without tree,
Nighttime without tree,
Now have all that again, but with his cloak on :3
Id say I've improved since 2022.
This originally was ment to be drawn and posted on the 17th, y'know Minecraft's birthday or whatever... but I didnt quite make that deadline... but I guess that's what happens when I start the day before 😬
You can tell I'm indecisive with the way I couldn't choose which one of these to be the "final" or "my favourite" just like in 2022... what can I say, I dont like to pick and choose ?.?
I went on a worldbuilding journey for the Swamp Biome and it led me down the route of fashion for Morassians! Do lemme know what you think, transcripts + further explanations under the cut :)
More worldbuilding things here!
Morassians, the residents of the Swamp Biome of Dridon, are defined by long, narrow faces, thick eyebrows, downturned eyes, long ears, thin lips, and their thin, hooked noses. Morassians are a naturally muscular people, and are the fourth tallest people on Dridon. Their heights tend to range from 6 feet to 6'5 feet, though some can end up shorter than that. Eye colors are usually shades of green or brown, but can sometimes be a striking yellow. Their skin colors tend to be warm browns, while their hair is usually darker brown than their skin. Due to the heat and humidity of the Biome, they tend to keep their hair short or done up.
Awakened outfits and general fashion favors loose tunics and pants tucked into calf or knee high leather boots, due to all the mud and water. Additional clothing (and other fabrics) are made from hemp fiber, found to the west/southwest of the Biome. In general, colors can be greens or browns, to blend with the environment, or purples and black for the Idealists in The Mucks. However, those who don't venture out in the environment and have no need to blend in usually go wild with whatever bright colors they can find.
They do have coats that reach the mid-thigh or shorter, which are used both for the common rainfalls and militia identification. Coat collars often have eyelets for them to lace and attach detachable hoods, primarily again for the rain. Having the hood constantly would just make the heat worse.
Every soldier (or those who simply go out into the wilderness a lot) has a coat due to the weather, and it doubles as an identifier. Specific markings vary depending on their origin (specific villages vs towns vs raider crews), but they tend to be simplistic overall. For the village of Klarak specifically, a vertical green line down the left side of the chest signifies a soldier, while golden embroidery is used over the heart for different ranks. Two horizontal lines indicates a sergeant, while a triangle flanked by two vertical lines indicates the chief of the village, who is named Zalisi. All organizations tend to have patches on a shoulder with the symbol of their allegiance. Village and town guards have the patch on the left shoulder, while raid crews tend to wear it on the right, as a direct opposition to the former. Any indicators on uniforms are usually copied onto pieces of armor for village and town guards.
Morassians love flowers as gifts or to decorate themselves with, as they are somewhat rare in this Biome, or very difficult to get. Some also use leaves and vines, or weave pieces replicating them to decorate their clothing, or even hoods. The Idealists of the Biome tend to do this even more than usual, as nature is related to one of their worshipped Paradigms, the Paradigm of Energy.
Witches are often considered some of the most cruel beings in the Overworld, and no example shows this better than the Viler Witch. They probably got their name from the particularly vile tactics they use to intoxicate their subjects, throwing potions that linger in the air long after making contact. They also make use of invisibility potions to make themselves a more difficult target, which shows a particular level of cunning not seen in most Witches. Their robes are dark blue and tattered with intricate gray designs and shorter sleeves to allow them to move more freely.
i've got a Minecraft slime golem idea. 3x3x3 of slime blocks with carved pumpkin as the center block. what do? it do big knockback when it does successful attack, also leaves a trail of slime coating similar to the snow golem's trail of snow, but only is the chunk is a slime chunk. maybe spawns in place of iron golem in swamp village
