➳ what is your ideal setting for focusing on your writing?

inspiration flows in most settings, but my best work has come from being at my desk where i can see all the colourful decorations on my wall + have music playing. maybe bc i associate that spot with studying and grinding on assignments? perhaps 🤠

➳ what is your favourite genre to write?

romance is my first instinct but... to be honest, i love a good sad story. i just haven't delved much into those. so maybe both

➳ do you prefer to write on paper, or digitally?

in terms of fiction writing, definitely digitally. but initial ideas + personal journalling is always on paper

➳ it’s the middle of the night and you suddenly wake up with an idea. what do you do?

grab my phone and write it down in the notes app lol. and probably forget about it for a couple months

➳ who is your favourite person to write about?

is it unsurprising that the answer is joshua and seokmin? hehe. but ofc, i enjoy writing about any svt member in general, as well as OCs

➳ do you like making your own characters, or do you usually write about real people?

i like both! but the latter is true, i tend to write more abt real people. that recent soonyoung piece was actually based on an OC idea I'd had some time ago! soonyoung fit it perfectly :')

➳ have you ever written a book, or a story with more than 15 chapters (100k words)?

nope, im definitely a short-piece person for sure. none of my ideas have enough substance to make anything longer than 1 or possibly 2k at the moment! but that may change 🤠

➳ how often do you get ideas?

the past few weeks were a bit of a drought, but on average maybe once or twice a week I'll think of something and write it down!

➳ do you ever get an idea that you really like, but just can’t seem to finish?

it's happened before, and that's what stopped me from posting fics earlier. (that and insecurity ofc). but these days, no, i think I'm able to make my ideas into a finished piece! (except a couple ideas that im trying to toy with... bartender!shua + stoic!reader, anyone?)

➳ what is your least favourite plot?

ones where someone fucks up, badly, yet all is forgiven in the name of love. i much prefer if you're going to depict deep-rooted issues between the characters, make it realistic and have them come to their senses + split up! but that's the writer's decision ofc, and sometimes it works i suppose.

It's 1:17 am but I have these thoughts and I am pacing and murmuring to myself so I ought to write them down. I've a number of friends on here now but there are some who's writing stands out to me but all in different ways and I just need to talk about it.

Firstly, @minghaoss who's work I just recently reblogged and yes I'm late to the game reading it I know. Her writing is so pretty. Its so visual. It's as if a painting were transformed into words, its truly a work of art. The stylistic choices in organization and of course the choice of adjectives is inventive. The sentences, when choppy or short, as done so on purpose and they only add to the story and the scene that's being painted into your mind. Its some of the prettiest writing you'll ever read.

And then there's @thetypingpup who's work is pretty but in a different way. If there were ever a queen of imagery it would be her. Every detail is imagined and she breaths life into it all so well. The pacing is fantastic and not a word goes to waste. Though, and this is important, in the midst of description she doesn't lose her way and neither will you. It won't blunder on to the point where you have no clue what's being described anymore. It's beautiful while still being followable, she conveys the beauty of her mind so incredibly well.

And then there's my dear @gamerwoo who I've known for some time now. I have two points to make. One, this woman is wildly funny. She has a wicked sense of humour and it translates into her lighter works so so well. But I think she has got to be one of the creative and imaginative story tellers I know. Her ideas are big and complex and yet she pulls them off so flawlessly she makes it look easy. She plans up the most complicated and involved story lines and her interactive works blow me away. For someone who claims to be the dumb friend™️ she's so incredibly brilliant.

tldr; if you haven't read through at least a portion of any of their masterlists, I strongly encourage it!

when i read "of hues, of blue", i instantly fell in love with the way you write. this is my favorite fanfiction ever written on minghao. the way you play with words to make pure magic is something i'm happy and honored to have had the chance to experience.
