Do we think "Israel" brazenly bragging about not allowing humanitarian aid through the border will be enough for people to stop scolding Gazans for making individual/family fundraisers because "it's better to donate to trusted orgs instead" or are they never going to get it?
Don't let your anxiety cause inaction, especially since there are people spending an incredible amount of effort to weed out the scammers and ease your anxiety about scammers. I don't know what else to do short of begging. Please don't let them starve. All my friends in Gaza are asking me why their campaigns are stagnating and I don't know how to answer them.
Anas is fighting cancer. (fundraiser) (vetting)
Amal needs to feed her baby. (fundraiser) (vetting #175)
Samir is in danger of losing his leg. (fundraiser) (vetting #428)
Mahmoud needs to pay remote tuition fees. (fundraiser) (vetting)
Please boost them and every vetted fundraiser that comes your way, and donate if you can. If you have any following and can think of anything like charity streams or giveaways to promote campaigns, please do so. This is a very crucial and difficult time for Gaza.

"what if things were different" is a poisoned well and drinking from it will kill you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This happens all over the world, because the US government (like other empires before it) rewards charities whose "food aid" involves shipping American crops and food to a country, rather than helping that countries agriculture sector grow so it can sustain itself. In fact, the large amounts of "free" food donated by charities can destroy local agriculture because they cannot sell their crops, forcing them to find new jobs or start growing cash crops to sell instead.
Empires actively work against trying to "teach people how to fish," because they want countries dependent on "charity" from the empire and exploitative international trade. Bill and Hillary Clinton's actions in Haiti are despicable, but not unique.
"Charity" under capitalism is rarely done for the long-term benefit of those given "aid," and that is by design.

btw if you tell me something and i reply with “oh???” that’s the equivalent of a dog’s ears perking up
If reincarnation is real I wonder how many people stare at their own art in museums, listen to their own music they made in a different life and read books they don't remember writing

people will still love you despite it all!! they will love you with some pimples on your face. they will love you if your stomach is bloated. they will love you if your legs aren’t shaved. they will love you even if you stutter or if you’re weight has fluctuated or if you aren’t the best version of yourself. they will love you despite it all.
okay lemme rephrase this by saying people will love you with this stuff. not really despite - this suggests "ppl will overlook your flaws and love you".
all of these things are naturally occurring. whether you think they are opponents of beauty or not is your own personal opinion but I believe that to fully denounce capitalist & patriarchal constructions of beauty we need to accept things like pimples and bloating* and body hair and weight fluctuation** as neutral. we have no business demonising these things nor trying to completely subvert norms and saying these are marks of beauty.
physical and superficial beauty is wholly entirely a construct, a fake construct. and i think the use of the phrase "best version of yourself", while used lovingly here, can be very dangerous bc it does still insinuate that these things - pimples and body hair - are obstacles to 'achieving' a better, more beautiful self. and this is simply not true.
*bloating: its also time we move away from conflating bloating to a visual mark of anything. bloating is an internal sensation... we have just come to use it synonymously with visible 'fat' or weight on the belly which it isn't
**weight fluctuation: again, weight is a morally neutral metric of mass and heaviness, and the same weight measurement can look entirely different on 2 ppl of the same height because fat is not the only thing that comprises weight. so we really really need to stop referring to or thinking of weight and its fluctuations as a measure of our beauty and/or self worth bc this is literally scientifically impossible. if you mean body image or visible "fat" then those clear terms need to be used (which again, you can't always be sure if a larger part of ur body is due to an increase in fat or muscle just by looking at it)
i know that when u are battling deep rooted insecurities and hatreds for things like these, the concept of "ppl will love me in spite of this" is a stepping stone to "ppl will love me with this bc they will love all of me equally". but i just felt the need to pick this apart because language and connotations are so so important in self love
it is not normal for grown men to find teenage girls sexually attractive. in fact, the older you get, the less attractive teenagers should become. i cannot believe people are arguing about this
humans are not “wired” to find younger people attractive. you are just poisoned by the normalization of pedophilia and capitalist ideals of beauty. your tastes are supposed to age with you.
i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.
Need it to be easier?
baby carrots (good dipped in ranch)
Celery sticks (add some peanut butter or cream cheese for extra flavor and protein)
Broccoli (good with ranch, cheese, or salt/pepper/butter)
Canned peas (you can microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Good with salt/pepper/butter)
Bell peppers (cut into strips, good with cream cheese)
Canned green beans (can be microwaved in microwave-safe bowl. Good with salt/pepper/butter)
Hummus (good with crackers or tortilla chips)
Salsa (good with tortilla chips)
Guacamole (good with tortilla chips)
Need it in something?
Can't see it:
Hummus
salsa
Guacamole
Can see but disguised flavor (can usually be found store bought or done at home and use different veggies):
Dressed up ramen - just toss in some random veggies in ramen of your choice. Pretty much everything I've tried goes fine with it.
Chicken pot pie
Vegetable soup (with so many together it's hard to taste any specific one!)
Chicken noodle soup
Sweet and sour pork (haven't tried it but chicken should be fine in place of pork)
Texture problems:
Need it soft:
Hummus
Salsa
Guacamole
Cooked carrots
Avocados
Beans (personally I prefer black beans and canned baked beans)
Peas (make sure to cook well, great value brand has the softest peas I've tried)
Cooked broccoli (note: it does smell bad while cooking)
Cooked asparagus (note: also smells bad while cooking)
Cooked zucchini and squash (good together but can be eaten separate)
You can also puree most vegetables and eat with a spoon or use them as a dip
Needs to be crunchy:
Raw carrots
Raw celery
Raw bell peppers
Salad (remember you can put whatever you want in it! Even if that means no lettuce)
Most veggies are okay raw, and are usually very crunchy
Veggies google says stay crunchy after lightly cooking:
Snap peas
Brussel sprouts
Cabbage
Water chestnut
Bamboo shoots
Broad texture tips:
You can change textures by eating raw, cooking, chopping, pureeing, etc
You can separate different textures to use in different ways (ie using broccoli tops in a soup and eating the bottoms raw)
It also really helps to think about why you dislike a vegetable. I found that I am scared of green foods so I like to use those veggies for ingredients in things they are well hidden for. I've also learned that watching something while eating helps because then I'm not looking at the gross green things. When possible, I also like to get help hiding it (ie using cream of celery soup in my chicken and dumplings).
the cure to self-sabotage is to anchor yourself to the universal truth that you are worth it. you are worth the effort. you are worth the difficulty, you are worth the time, you are worth the consideration. there is never a point in your life, in time itself, that you are not worth it. return to this truth when you feel yourself slipping. do not let it go.
