Zithers, Superfluous Things  長物志古琴篇

Signature: This records the chapter Zithers of Superfluous Things by Wen Zhenheng (1585 - 1645). For Lady Mei-man of Heavenly Seal Hall to critique at her leisure. In the Dingyou year (2017), Kong Ming. Seal (Red Text): Ming.

釋文：琴為古樂 雖不能操 亦須壁懸一床  以古琴歷年既久 漆光退盡 紋如梅花 黯如烏木 彈之聲不沉者為貴  琴軫 犀角象牙者雅  以蚌珠為徽 不貴金玉  弦用白色柘絲 古人雖有朱弦清越等語 不如素質有天然之妙  唐有雷文張越  宋有施木舟  元有朱致遠  國朝有惠祥高騰祝海鶴及樊氏路氏 皆造琴高手也  掛琴不可近風露日色 琴囊須以舊錦為之 軫上不可用紅綠流蘇 抱琴勿橫 夏月彈琴 但宜早晚 午則汗易污 且太燥脆弦
