Hi, I'd like to recommend a fic I found recently! /31781515 It's called "Better Things to Do with a Flute in Wartime" and the author is anonymous. It's a NMJ/WWX/LWJ fic set during the Sunshot Campaign, and despite the kinda funny name, it is a SERIOUS examination of WWX's role during the Sunshot Campaign. The quality is incredible! 2/2 test readers agree: we didn't want to put it down even for little things like work or mealtimes. [Lol, I’m happy to hear y’all were using the Scientific Method!]  The story itself is finished, there is a sequel called "Cages" that is ongoing and was recently updated. ~ @mikkeneko​

Better Things to Do with a Flute in Wartime

Summary:  Wei Wuxian stabs somebody with his flute. Nie Mingjue tries to fix things with his dick. Lan Wangji pines in a non-communicative fashion.

Or: in the fourth month of the Sunshot Campaign, Nie Mingjue notices that Wei Wuxian is showing symptoms of imminent qi deviation. He takes steps to try to mitigate the fallout—and the course of the war changes, first slowly, then much less slowly...

The sequel is finished!  The series is in progress, with more to come.

here's a bit from the languishing sequel to my big bang fic:

His head is still pounding and his body is sore, so he takes some pain medicine and puts on his softest leggings and a baggy long-sleeve shirt.

When he gets to the kitchen, Nie Mingjue is cooking a hearty egg frittata with spinach and tomato, bread in the toaster, and has the pour-over full of coffee. Lan Wangji’s stomach growls with hunger, but also feels like it might revolt if he dares to eat anything. He gets down a mug and fills it with coffee, settling at the kitchen table while Nie Mingjue finishes cooking.

He drifts for a while, lost in his cup of coffee, not really drinking it, just staring into its warm brown depths. He feels a little embarrassed about his behavior last night and this morning.
