CAPE & CRISIS - OUR SUPERHERO SOLO ADVENTURE IS HERE!!!!

Okay gamers, I'm literally vibrating with excitement because my mini solo superhero RPG adventure just dropped and I need to tell EVERYONE about it!

So picture this: You're Metro City's masked guardian, right? Just living your best vigilante life when suddenly this reality-bending villain called the Architect traps hundreds of people in a tower that exists across SEVEN DIMENSIONS simultaneously. Because of course he does. Villains, am I right?

Here's where it gets spicy (literally - SPICE is one of the core mechanics!): Every choice you make shapes not just the story, but your heroic legacy. Do you rush in guns blazing with super strength? Outsmart the villain with your genius intellect? Or bend reality itself with mystical powers? Each approach opens completely different story paths.

The whole thing was created for the 1100 Words TTRPG Kitchen jam, which meant cramming an entire superhero adventure into exactly 1100 words. Sounds impossible? That's what makes it fun! Every single word had to earn its place, so there's zero fluff - just pure concentrated superhero goodness.

This is actually my mini solo adventure experiment! I wanted to see if I could capture that full comic book experience in bite-sized format. And honestly? I'm obsessed with how it turned out. Which means you can expect WAY more from Quest Ludica - we're already planning extended solo adventures, deeper Metro City stories, and maybe even some team-up mechanics for when you want to share the hero life with friends.

And can we talk about the REBIRTH mechanic for a second? When you're facing defeat (because let's be honest, good heroes get knocked down), you can spend everything for one last heroic surge. It's that classic comic book moment where the hero gets back up because people are counting on them. Chef's kiss

The best part? You can play this anywhere. On your lunch break, waiting for the bus, in that awkward gap between classes. Just you, some dice, and 20-30 minutes to save the world. No scheduling, no "sorry guys can't make it this week," just pure solo heroic adventure whenever you need it.

Whether you get the Perfect Victory (save everyone, be the legend), Noble Defeat (go down swinging but inspire others), or something in between, every playthrough feels earned. Because being a hero isn't about having powers - it's about the choices you make when everything's on the line.

Dimeshipping - Spontaneous Mini RPG

So @lostasaliceasmadasthehatter and I where chatting about Dimeshipping as we always do. And where looking at a picture of Scrooge and Magica. This one:

Anyway, suddenly we where in the middle of a spontaneous mini RPG I wanted to share with you. ( @lostasaliceasmadasthehatter is Magica me is Scrooge)

And as the wind blowed her silky hair against his cheek he just couldnt resist anymore. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to capture her luring lips into a deep kiss...

And it shocked her, though she’d secretly been hoping for it the whole time, silently flirting and sliding closer, wiggling her tail feathers just so. And his lips felt so good against hers, and he was so warm, she couldn’t help the little sigh she gave as she curled into his chest

What are you doing? Screamed his mind and probably his nephews aswell. But... he didnt listen to any of this. To feel her lips, her warmth was the best he ever felt. He helt her a little closer to his strong chest. Stroking gently over her back.

She ignored the startled and outraged screams that rose behind them. She’d wanted this too long to worry about them, at least in the present moment. She melted at his gentle touch, and as they parted for air leaned her head against his shoulder, taking the time to nuzzle her beak into his neck feathers and preen lightly with a gentle hum

Even after the kiss he didnt let go of her. Softly he rubbed his beak at her cheek as she leaned against him so contently. "Magica..." his voice was just a whisper, not even sure what he wanted to say. Tenderly he kissed her temple.

She let out another hum at both the contact and the kiss. This was so much better than she had imagined, and she *had* imagined this moment, many times. “Yes Scrooge?” she murmured just as quietly as he had, unwilling to break the spell that seemed to have settled over them, for once not a product of her magic.

Could he even trust her? Was he under some sort of spell? But his mind felt al clear. To be honest, more clear then in years. Clear and at peace for once. "Stay with me..."

She blinked in shock, but didn’t move, too comfortable in his arms. Did he mean it? Did he really want her to stay? Or was he just letting his attraction get in the way? Even if he was, she couldn’t find it in herself to deny him, to step away and leave. “If that’s what you want,” she breathed.

He looked at her. His eyes shone full of affection towards the witch. Why hadn't he realized it earlier? The way he felt so comfortable around her. The joy she spread in him. "Only if you want it too..." He added softly. "Magica, I l..." But he couldn’t end his sentence. Suddenly rough hand grabbed him and pulled him away. It was almost painfull to be seperated from her warm body.

"Uncle Scrooge! You need to snap out of it!" He heard the voices of hie nephews, now loud and clear. But he still didnt care. In shock he saw that Magica had been pulled way aswell and was now lying in the cold snow. His family hovering over her with glared full of hatred towards the woman who had bewitched their uncle. "No! Stop that! I am not bewitched!" He broke los from dnalds hold and sank on his knees next to Magica. "I am so sorry, are you hurt...my love?"

Magica could only blink as Scrooge was roughly torn away from her, the force enough to send her stumbling into the snow without his support. She hissed as the icy flakes melted into her dress and subsequently soaked her feathers and skin. The boys glared at her, snowballs in their tiny gloved hands ready to be thrown at her. Donald, even as he was screaming at his uncle, took the time to also throw a hateful look her way.

She couldn’t move, didn’t dare to with all four of them surrounding her. Eyes wide, she lay there, shivering as the cold began to truly set in, more snow melting into her. Her eyes went to Scrooge as he came to her defense, pushing past his bewildered family to sit beside her. “N-no, I’m alright,” she answered, giving him a small smile to prove her words. “But how can we be sure you’re not under another of her love potions?” Donald asked suspiciously, narrowing his eyes. Magica cringed, ashamed that all her meddling over the years (a direct result of her suppressed feelings) had caused such rightful distrust.

He lifted the freezing woman onto his arms as he stood up. Head held up proud as he looked at Donald. But he hold no anger in his eyes. He couldn't really blame his family for their distrust. They only meant to protect him. "YOU, can not be sure. But I AM!" He hold her a little thighter to warm her up again. "She put me under so many lovespells I lost track. Although the kept wearing off sooner and sooner over the years. I know how it feels to be bewitched, And I am not now."

To the bewilderment of his family he bent his head to kiss Magica lovingly. "Donald...boys..." He looked each of them in the eyes before he proceed. "I finaly understand my feelings. Why I keep fighting her instead of getting her captured, Why I always come back to trust her and ally with her..." Now he looked Magica in the eyes "I love you."

She didn’t fight as he scooped her into his arms, trembling even harder now than before. She tucked her face against his neck in shame, tears pricking her eyes as he began to talk. She knew what she’d done, and yes the spells were weaker and weaker each time she cast them, but only because over the years she’d finally begun to realize that she didn’t want his love if it was fake, not even to get the dime. And then finally she realized she didn’t even want the dime, she wanted him. Since then, she hadn’t used a love spell or potion, the idea making her sick.

She felt him hug her more tightly to his chest as a particularly hard chill went down her spine, and she dared to peek out from her hiding spot, glimpsing the confused and bewildered faces of his family. She managed to turn her head to receive the quick but sweet kiss he gave, the action drying her tears entirely. She kept her eyes on him as he finally reached the main point of his speech, locking eyes with him. “I love you” he said. Her eyes widened. It couldn’t be. He didn’t. He did. His eyes showed the truth, and they held nothing but love.

“Oh Scrooge,” she whispered, reaching up a hand to card her fingers through his whiskers. “I know that over the years I’ve done some horrible things.” She looked to his family. “But once I realized that my feelings were changing I stopped using such strong love spells, and eventually stopped using them at all. In fact I haven’t used one in over a year.”

She looked back at him. “Because I realized....I realized I didn’t want your love if it was fake, not even for the dime. And then I realized I didn’t even want the dime. I just kept coming after it because I was afraid if I told you how I felt I’d lose you, and I can’t have that because...” She took a deep breath.

“Because I love you too.”

this is exactly what I was looking for thank you!!! this is perfect. the only thing I don't understand is if players/goblins have skills (since you add an extra die to your roll if you have a skill) but I'd love to run this for a group!

I'm thinking of having some get-togethers and/or zoom calls where I run a few games so I get a sense of how to dm/gm (I've run exactly 1 game of a mini rpg called crash pandas and kind of 1 session of monster of the week ever) and also a sense for what would work for audio. I think my friends who I have in mind for this will love this game!
