This. Again. It was beginning to grow quite tiring, really. Octavius - except that no, it was August this time around, wasn’t it? Well, August was absolutely exhausted of the pattern they’d created. By circumstances that always looked like chance - but Octavius knew was nothing less than the fates moving them about like chess pieces - he’d meet his... Jason, Jed, Jackson, whatever his name happened to be this time around. Octavius would inevitably remember everything that had come before and try fruitlessly to get him to remember as well, but of course, it never worked. They’d have precious little time together and then one of them - or perhaps both if the fates were feeling merciful - would die.
It was endless and tiring and frustrating and there was nothing more he wanted than to put an end to his terrible curse, but so far, there was nothing he could find that might help. And so, he resigned himself to living out this terrible pattern over and over, feeling eternally anxious and terrified for the day he would run into his other half once more.
