안녕하세요! Hello everyone! Welcome to another mini Korean lesson! Ok, so the topic today is syllables, now, in English, if you’ve noticed, our syllables are linear, we write our words letter by letter, in a line. In Korean or 한글, they write in blocks. Normally these blocks consist of at least one consonant and only one vowel. They can me made up of 2, 3 or 4 letters. So, you can get syllables like 가 or 리, 한 or 발, and 밟 or 않. Notice how each syllable starts with one consonant and one vowel, after that you’ll always get consonants. That is generally how Koreans spell. While it may look complicated, remember you can map it out, and visualise it. If you want to learn more about the structure of the Korean language, head on over to featherscharm.com, I outline it in more detail there. Well that’s it from me today, I’ll see you guys tomorrow!
