Mini meditation... Mindfulness moment The world we are living in is hurried, and often we feel overstimulated, this creates stress in the mind and body. In order to combat this, we need to re-train our minds. A simple way to do this that will yield great results is mini meditations/mindfulness moments! I know meditation may seem like an overwhelming thought but, when you think about it as mini meditation, it instantly becomes easier! Here is a simple one to do: Active mini meditation. Stop what you are doing and get up and walk. Just walk and focus on your breathing, inhale for 2 steps, exhale for 2 steps. If thoughts come into your mind, release them and refocus on the in breath 2 steps, out breath 2 steps. Now, here's the great part... You only have to do this for 1 minute for it to have an effect! If you are at work, you can do it on your walk to and from the restroom- there's a great way to look at it, you are resting your mind, one minute at a time! You can easily expand this practice as you feel comfortable with it. A positive, easy, new self-care habit you can do anywhere! Why not start right now?
