Fred Wilson. Metal Works, from “Mining the Museum,” 1992 at the Maryland Historical Society. Here, Wilson places slave shackles (found in the basement of the museum) besides some of the fine silverware in its collection. Getting at what is shown/ not shown, included in (visual) narratives of history, and and RNA Lab’s attempts to open conversations about institutions of race and class.
