Lmao they are both the father figure but Koujaku is def more "motherly" than Mink is mostly cause he's def his mothers child and pretty much imitates her when with their child. Mink points this out and Koujaku can do nothing but blush and say something like "Well better her than me" and Mink assures Koujaku that he's a good parent in his own way
21- Who stays up late helping with homework?
Miiink! Koujaku just doesn't have the patience or ends up not understanding jack shit("When did school get this hard?! Just... Go ask you're other father...."). Mink is actually hella good at teaching and doesn't care how long it takes
22- Who takes over the beauty/style department?
Ehehehehe bro Koujaku for sure. Mink would have a lot of the exact same boring clothes cause he doesn't care. Koujaku refuses to look anything but amazing. Koujaku is all kinds of distressed about how little Mink cares about beauty and style
23- Which partner takes the kid(s) to more outings?
Oh gosh I think they would both do outings together but Mink more so because he loves teaching their child about nature, his heritage, and other important things about the land and what not. The two often come home covered in dirt and dead tired so Koujaku has to watch over them while they clean up so they don't drown in the tub from having fallen asleep while washing up.
*Lays down as I get swamped by MinKou emotions again*
AU where Mink and Koujaku are neighbors and Mink has a mini garden on his balcony and every morning before getting ready for the day he tends to his plants shirtless and Koujaku actually gets up early to watch Mink get lost in his own world doing his gardening thing
You know what's weird is that I think about BeastMink a lot even though it makes no sense. So any thoughts on BeastMink?
beAST MINK HECK YEAH
I’ve been getting real deep feelings for it, especially after I finally jotted down that fic
Now, I guess it depends on whether you mean a permanent Beastjaku or if he comes out sporadically.
I feel that Mink and his spirituality would accept the sporadic appearance of Beastjaku as a part of Koujaku and try to quell him as best as he can, being more than a-okay with getting ripped apart or assaulted by the creature for Koujaku’s own good, at least that is after it is established he has feelings for Koujaku
if he hasn’t really sorted out his feelings for Koujaku then I have a good feeling there’s going to be some decapitation going on
or at least trying
But maybe Beastjaku comes out sporadically, but it lasts longer and longer each time, and one time, Koujaku doesn’t “come back”
He doesn’t calm down and he’s on the hunt for blood and vengeance
Mink might try to chain him down, similar to how Shiroba acts calm, but also take care of him, talk to him, pray to him (totally unlike Shiroba; i dont think there’d be much sexual stuff between them unless Beastjaku initiates it heavily, then Mink might just… let himself be used as a calming agent to let Beastjaku’s frustrations out on him). Brush his hair and ignore the not-so-gentle sharp-toothed biting Koujaku tries at his arms and wrists. He tries his damn best to make oils and ointments and things to burn for smoke to try and bring Koujaku back. There’s a point where Beastjaku and Koujaku aren’t necessarily two different beings, and Mink might realize this by how Beastjaku acts towards him sometimes. Sometimes Koujaku might get through and he’s less violent, he might tire himself out from trying to attack Mink and just purr (or… growl contently?) as he’s tended to and taken care of. Pieces of the real Koujaku show through by incoherent words and Mink would hate himself.
He’d hate himself because he can’t bring Koujaku back and he might eventually resort to saving his spirit, anyway. His patience and calmness might bring Beastjaku to him less violently, enough where he can remove the shackles some days and allow him to roam freely within a certain perimeter, and I feel that he might try to “tame” Beastjaku, but eventually come to the conclusion that Koujaku isn’t some pet to keep. He’s a human being and probably will decide that Koujaku deserves release. So he decapitates him. He'd probably go to Scratch or even Aoba, not telling anyone he decapitated Koujaku, at least not yet, so he could learn how they'd do a traditional Japanese funeral and learn some Japanese prayers for him. He'd be so devastated, I'd think he might try a funeral, or bury Koujaku himself similar to how I'm certain he did for his tribe), and keep Koujaku's head somewhere separate and safe. He'd pray to it and for it, hoping that Koujaku's soul is safe and pure. Not keep it as some psychological break thing, but genuinely because he wants his soul to be safe.
Now, I’m on the fence with the whole lovey dovey Beastjaku thing because while I like it as an alternate universe, I feel that Beastjaku is essentially the manifestation of pure hatred, violence, and vengeance. I mean, the man murdered his own mother in this form without thinking until he came to his senses. Same goes for my opinions on Virus and Trip being “in love” or, ugh, "hating" each other. I feel that there are some things that are essentially more black and white than gray, and Beastjaku being the literal manifestation of his anger seems like one thing I don’t like to stray too far from.
And I guess it depends on which version of Mink we’re talking about here, too. I feel that Mink would be forgiving and kind, but there’s the whole idea with him wanting to save Koujaku from his monstrous self. But I also feel that, like I said, he’d want to save and release Koujaku from his hatred. He’s lived through that hatred and would never want Koujaku to live through a literal, physical form of it.
But if Beastjaku would be just a happening every now and then, Mink would hate having to chain him up and Koujaku, coming back to his senses, would apologize so many times to him for hurting him, and Mink would just hold on to him, stroke his hair, kiss his tattoos, touch his face, and be completely physical with him as a comfort for both himself and Koujaku, letting him know everything’s fine. That Koujaku is fine and safe and he’s so glad he doesn’t have to worry about losing something important to him again. And Koujaku would cling to him and feel like he shouldn’t be happy right now because he’s done so many terrible things and they’d both tell each other it’s fine, they’d comfort each other because they’ve both done terrible things to everyone around them. They can’t forgive each other because Mink’s never done anything to Koujaku and neither has Koujaku to Mink, but they’d hope they’d forgive themselves some day, and they support each other all the way.
Mink becomes wary when he is told of a monster in a man's body murdered an entire police squad in full riot gear. He learns about Koujaku and his past, revealing his own in exchange. He follows Koujaku about, keeping an eye on him, feeling his spirit is troubled. He tries to help Koujaku let off some steam when the Yakuza and Scratch come into a fight. Both badly injured, Koujaku fought off his monstrous self to get Mink to safety. Mink trying to help Koujaku stay stable ends up in a situation he didn't think he'd find himself in. They can't erase each others' pasts, but they both equally need the help to overcome their tragedies.
I really liked this post so I decided to include it. However, I don't think I did it proper justice, and for that I apologize.
Let me know if you see any mistakes. Hope you enjoy!
A little something based off of this wonderful idea by 3renmoon. I'm sorry that I didn't do it much justice but I just had to write something for this despite my art block right now it's that wonderful to think about.
Koujaku cannot believe the current situation he’s stuck in right now. Broken ribs? Check. Broken Nose? Of-fucking-course. Possible concussion? What hospital would it be without one? Multiple bruises? Everywhere. Extremely hot nurse who is way too attractive to be real? Wasn’t really expecting that one but Koujaku is not certainly complaining about it.
It’s a bit of a blur as to how he even ended up in the hospital in the first place though. He remembers getting a challenge from a rival Rib team, the actual fight beginning, and then suddenly he’s lying in a hospital bed being told by some doctor that he may have a punctured lung due to a few broken ribs.
Koujaku isn’t sure what’s worse, his possibly punctured lung or the fact his super-hot nurse is seeing him in such a pathetic state right off the bat. There is nothing sexy about broken noses or getting the shit beat out of you. This is one of the worst first impressions he’s ever made and he wasn’t even awake for it. Sighing Koujaku reaches up to poke at the bandages wrapped around his nose only to get his hand smacked back down.
“Don’t touch it.” The nurse grunts not even looking away from the clipboard he has in his hands.
“I wasn’t going to.” Koujaku lies as a blush rises to his cheeks. Smacked like a child trying to sneak cookies behind his mother’s back. That’s a new low right there. “More importantly how long will I be here?” Koujaku asks trying to change the subject.
“Two to four days. Five at the most if it’s that’s serious.” He answers in that deep voice made by the angels themselves.
“Two days? Well if I’m going to be here that long then it’s only polite that I at least know your name.” Koujaku points out with a confident smile. He’s sure that it was mentioned at some point but apparently Koujaku has been in and out of consciousness at least five times since he was admitted into the hospital so there’s no way he’d remember.
Intense golden eyes catch his own red ones and Koujaku is frozen in place as the nurse stares him down. The clipboard is placed on its hook at the foot of his bed and Koujaku can only watch as the nurse walks to the door with just a few simple steps. Damn he’s really tall.
“Mink.” The man grunts before exiting the room. Koujaku falls back onto his pillow and finally remembers how to breathe again. The pain in his chest isn’t even registering past how fast his heart is beating right now.
With a nurse like Mink a punctured lung is the least of his worries.
Extra Drabble!
“What do you mean you can’t swallow pills?” Mink grunts in disbelief as Koujaku blushes even more. The guy had been complaining all morning about the pain in his chest so Mink went and got him some pain killers to dull the pain only to find out Koujaku can’t even swallow pills.
“Look it’s not something I like to admit anyway!” Koujaku snaps angrily. Just how much more embarrassment will he have to endure while here? Although nothing will ever top when Koujaku was high off of painkillers and told Mink that his muscles were so perfect they kept him up at night. “Is there a different way to dull the pain?”
“Something more painful?” Mink suggests clearly trying to antagonize him further. Koujaku glares at Mink who simply stares back as if he said nothing wrong. Surprisingly Mink is the first to back down and look away with a sigh.
“Nevermind about the painkillers I’ll just deal with it.” Koujaku mutters while laying back down. Mink catches the way Koujaku flinches and groans in pain. Normally Mink would just up and leave but the guy looks so pathetic it’s hard to just walk away.
“Here I’ll help you.” Mink offers gaining Koujaku’s attention. He sits up with a confused face as Mink pushes the glass of water and pills into his hand. Koujaku stares at the pills then looks back up at Mink then at the glass of water.
“How?” Koujaku questions clearly suspicious of Mink’s generosity.
“Shut up and do what I say. Close your eyes, put the pills in your mouth, and then take a drink of the water.” Mink instructs. Koujaku is hesitant but the pain in his chest urges him to do as he’s told. Koujaku closes his eyes and pops the pills into his mouth. He takes a big drink of water and right as he pulls the glass away a pair of lips brush against his. In that moment of surprise and panic Koujaku swallows the water and pills without realizing it.
“What the fuck was that?” Koujaku demands while fumbling with the empty glass in his hands.
“Did that actually work?” Mink questions when he realizes that Koujaku actually swallowed the pills.
“What? You didn’t even know if that would work?” Koujaku shouts going red in the face once more.
“Well a kiss wasn’t exactly the plan but I guess that works to.” Mink admits with a shrug as he takes the glass away.
“You’re going to be the death of me.” Koujaku mutters while Mink cleans up.
“I thought my muscles were going to do that.” Mink teases gaining a frustrated groan from Koujaku.

High School AU where Mink and Koujaku get detetion for getting into a fight and the teacher has them write each other apology letters. Mink's just writes "Fuck No" on his paper and Koujaku's has a crude drawing of Mink on his paper. Both are very offended by the other's "letter" and got another day of detention
writer and editor au (I’m sooo sorry this took me so long)
Koujaku loves writing and everything about it. He loves story building, when the words just flowed from his mind to the page, he loves his characters even the minor ones. What Koujaku hates about writing is his editor.
Mink.
He’s a total hardass and nothing is ever good enough for him. It seems that no matter what Koujaku writes there’s always something terribly wrong. It could be anything between “I don’t like that comma there” or “This character is beyond painful to read about Red.”
That’s another thing that pisses Koujaku off. They’ve been working together for almost 4 months now and Mink has yet to use Koujaku’s actual name. Even when they greeted each other for the first time Mink called him Red.
It sucks but Koujaku loves writing too much to just stop because of Mink. Koujaku grumbles a bit as he rolls over to look at his clock. It’s almost time to head over to meet his editor and that puts him in an even worse mood. With a heavy sigh Koujaku pushes himself up and crawls out of bed.
—
The worst part about having Mink as his editor is he gives you nothing to go on. If he likes something or hates it you’ll never know. He never smiles and his face is almost constantly at a frown so that’s nothing to go off. His eyebrows never move his eyes never show anything other than concentration.
It used to be nerve wrecking but now it’s just frustrating to be honest. Koujaku fiddles around on his coil while Mink reads what he has to offer until the he hears the click of Mink’s glasses in his desk.
"So what do I have to change now?" Koujaku flat out asks. Mink raises an eyebrow at him and hands Koujaku his work back.
"Actually nothing. This is very well written and I’m impressed with this… Koujaku." Mink answers before giving Koujaku a small smile.
Correction.
What Koujaku now hates is how badly a simple smile and use of his first name from Mink can get his heart racing and face blushing.
