Kwazii’s Headcanon

Hey guys. There are so many people in Tumblr making headcanons for the Octonauts, Octo-Agents, and even Junior Octo-Agents, so it had me feeling inspired to make my own headcanons for them. Starting with my favorite Octonauts character, Kwazii.

Now, here’s what I’ve got for his headcanons so far:

Kwazii is a fan of Goosebumps by R.L. Stine, and has a huge book collection of every series (from the classics, to Horrorland, to Most Wanted, etc.). He also has three of the Goosebumps games, such as Goosebumps Dead At Night, Goosebumps The Game, and Goosebumps: Terror In Little Creek.

Kwazii loves strawberries, and any other food that is strawberry-flavored. But alongside that, he loves all kinds of sweets due to having a sweet tooth.

Kwazii has a strong love for dolphins and has a special bond with them since befriending the baby dolphin and the spinner dolphins! So much that people call him a “Dolphin Whisperer” as he is known to have a deep connection with them. But Kwazii dismisses that, even though he has a way with dolphins.

Kwazii has a rivals-to-friends-to lovers relationship with Paani, who has developed feelings for him since being saved by him countless times. Although, Kwazii found it annoying that Paani kept following him or rambling a lot about water or other hydrology stuff, he starts to have these growing feelings for him until their adventure with the rainbow tidewater in Patagonia where they have their confession moment and become boyfriends.

Kwazii’s favorite Disney movies are Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana, Raya and the Last Dragon, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, The Haunted Mansion, Treasure Planet, Oliver and Company, and Bridge to Terabithia.

Kwazii is an expert in badminton since playing table tennis with Dashi and Professor Inkling.

Kwazii has four nostalgic mobile games on his tablet: Dragon City, Fantasy Forest Story, Terra Monsters, and Mino Monsters.

Kwazii’s favorite Terra Monsters are Niptune, Lothea, Lotheo, Hytheo, Bunobi, and Aquarin

Kwazii’s favorite Disney Jr. shows are Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Sofia the First, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, and PJ Masks

Kwazii’s best sea creature friends are Little Matey the Baby Dolphin, Parrotfish Pete, Dina the Sardine, and Trxie the Triggerfish.

Kwazii has been practicing skateboarding for two weeks since he has trouble keeping his balance on the skateboard. But he was able to nail it afterwards, especially when he did the big air!

Kwazii keeps a small treasure chest full of his favorite memory treasures right next to his cannon under his bed: the seashell from the baby dolphin, the key to his grandfather’s musical treasure chest from Parrotfish Island, a cave pearl, etc.

Kwazii hates it when Dashi takes photos or videos of his embarrassing moments and the other Octonauts laughing at them that he takes things too personally and then gets so grudgingly grumpy that he lashes out at the Octonauts without knowing it until he does.

Kwazii is excellent at acrylic painting as he painted the shark teeth on the Gup-B.

Kwazii has a special immune system that keeps him from being poisoned by chocolate.

Kwazii and Paani are the same age. But Kwazii is mostly taller than Paani.

very obscure question but does anyone remember the old names for minomonsters?

Im pretty sure grunt, blazel, crocoling, alacon, zuppy, belooba, and a couple others have kept their names, but some definitely didnt

like fireline became firecat, and i think rabbat’s name used to be kuron?

i miss the old names for the mino monsters from the very first game tbh

Collector Game Thoughts: Monster Racers

One of the games that I’ve come to appreciate a lot is Monster Racers. As a game developer, it opened my eyes to the possibility of designing games that subvert the expectations of their genres. In the case of this game, the idea that creature collection doesn’t have to include a form of combat. As the game’s title suggests, you collect creatures for the sole purpose of racing them.

Although the creatures’ designs might not be as memorable as other games or franchises, their mechanical design was well-made to enable the racing theme. Each creature has passive abilities that allow them to bypass obstacles or gain a speed boost when running on a certain terrain type. Furthermore, each monster’s stats relate to max speed, acceleration, attack powers (when crashing into another creature) and defense. To further the game’s design, each racing stage is crafted to enable multiple racing styles and force the players to equally train different creatures at once and not focus on a single type. Finally, as a means to change the formula, players have direct control of their creatures during the 2D platforming rather than the passive or turn-based gameplay of other creature collectors.

Overall, I believe this game has a lot to teach beyond the confines of creature collection games. As for gamers, it’s a game that I wholeheartedly recommend people play if creature collection and high-speed platforming is your jam.
