So here’s a thing y’all may or may not know of! People often incorporate others people’s speech patterns if they care about them (in any way, shape, or form). This also happens with actions! Examples; saying a certain phrase that a friend says, putting your hands in your pockets often because you see a sibling do that often, etc. Me? I say ‘bestie’ ironically because a friend of mine says that. I use the sparkle and heart emojis because of that as well, but I only do it sarcastically or humorously because that’s how that friend uses those things. I put my thumbs in my pockets because an offline friend does that. I say ‘funky’ because an online friend does that. I tilt my head when I’m interested because a friend in kindergarten did that. I smile the way one of my parents does.
