Valentine’s Day Antics.
The day was going so well, until someone had to whip up something frivolous.
Another ‘kalokohan’ fluff fic ft. FAMilya wherein Miong causes things to go down again because, why not? (I should make this a series lel)
I crammed this in like, an hour just to make it in time for Valentine’s so.. Medj lazy writing but, oh well.
Pole was silently reading his emails on his phone whilst seated comfortably on the passenger seat, Goyong on the other hand busy minding the road. After Paterno’s party, the two had decided to ride in the Fortuner while Miong drove the Starex home alone.
Prior to the morning, they had been to different places, only meeting up during the blowout of Paterno, thus causing them to be riding different vehicles.
Now, they were at a stoplight in West Avenue, the first car stopped. Goyong was leaning on the steering wheel waiting for the red light to turn green. It was taking forever, about fifty more seconds until the light changes so he wasn’t paying much attention. The traffic was bad, as usual, so other vehicles were disregarding lane rules in order to get to where they needed faster.
“Wag ka nga sumiksik.” Goyong grumbled to the driver of the car trying to get ahead of him from the other lane. “Tapos magrereklamo pag nabanga. Tch.”
“Nako, anak. Ganyan talaga.” Pole looked up from his phone, then glanced at the car, then to the stoplight.
4, 3, 2, 1.
The car sped past the Fortuner, and Goyong let out an annoyed ‘tsk’ before stepping on the gas. The moment he did so, another car followed the last one so he had to brake again. The other car did the same. Goyong then took this opportunity to go and hit the gas once more. However, the driver of the other car was thinking the same and began to move at the same time the Fortuner did, causing a collision between the two cars.
“Putang ina naman, o!” Goyong slammed his brakes, unbuckled his seat belt and was muttering more profanities under his breath as he stepped out.
Pole, who was so focused on his work only took notice of the problem at hand when he felt the two metals collide, and also because he was lurched forward. He squinted at the car in front of him before his eyes followed to where Goyong was going. He could see how visibly upset the boy was.
He looked at the car again, to the driver’s seat, then back to the car.
The driver was getting down.
“Ano ba!? Hoy, bilisan mo diyan!” Goyong yelled.
‘Ano nanaman iniisip nito.’ Pole thought (not referring to Goyong), before sighing and looking away momentarily before looking back to the Starex in front of him.
Miong got down, the expression of a child getting caught stealing candy etched on his face. Goyong immediately stopped with his raging.
“’Tay?”
“Paano kaya ito, noh?” Miong laughed, checking the damages of the Fortuner and the side of the Starex. There were dents, but they were not too bad.
“Eh, siyempre hindi ko naman kasalanan.” Goyong defended. “Ikaw yung sumingit.”
Pole rolled down the window and yelled, “Uminom ka ba, mahal?”
Miong frowned. “Hindi naman!”
“Bakit ba kasi?” Goyong asked Miong, pointing at the ‘wreckage’.
The older male was silent for awhile, hesitant. “Wala lang... Gusto ko kasi ikaw isorpresa.”
Pole heard this from the car, and he moved his head out. “Halika nga. Ngayon. Bilis, halika.”
Miong stepped up until he was near Pole. The paralytic reached his arm out and pinched Miong on the bridge of his nose. “And tigas ng ulo mo! Bakit ka kasi gumanon? Ayan tuloy, lumala pa yung trapik.”
“Eh, nanggugulo lang ako. Di ko naman inakala na mangyayari ito.”
“Kaya kailangan mo muna magisip. Miong, magisip ka muna kasi.”
“Oo, alam ko. Kasalanan ko na, ako ang bahala sa pagayos, hah? Alam ko.”
Pole looked at Miong with discontent, which irked Miong a little. Yes, he could be frivolous and often times his schemes don’t end well, but it doesn’t mean he couldn’t be trusted.
“Ano na? Nagpapasensya na nga ako. Ano pa ang gusto mo?”
“Wala. Bakit ka nagagalit?” Pole retorted, his eyesbrows furrowing. Had he said anything about wanting something more?
Goyong intervened. “Pwede ba? Ang sama na ng trapik. Sa bahay nalang, mas mabuti pa kaya, noh?”
He suggested, fed up with all the honk blowing and the people gathering. The cars just tapped each other, oh diyos ko! What was the big deal?
Miong’s lips pursed and he looked at Pole. “Sige. Sa bahay tayo magkita.”
Goyong hopped into the Fortuner and started it up, waiting for his dad to start the other one up and drive ahead.
Pole sighed deeply, resting his temple on his finger. He will be conducting a sermon for tonight.
