Progress photo/q-snap move on Persephone by Mirabilia
This is what I've been doing lately
a cross-stitched ocean nymph adorned with beads; a stunning handmade piece found on etsy ⊹
Christian Dior Haute Couture Collection Fall/Winter 1955-56. Model Marie-Hélène Arnaud in a frock coat in Mirabilia by Porter-Bennett-Gaucherand.

Bit of a redesign of an old character of mine. Her name is Mira, short for Mirabilia. I’m sure you can find some old drawings of her if you dig deep enough
Rose Arbour - Completed
There she is! Washed, dried, ironed and ready to get framed... just as soon as I work out which ‘safe place’ I put the companion piece to this in so I can get them framed as a matching pair.
In addition to the misprint on the pattern which puts a section of one row 4 stitches to the left of where they should be, which would make one of those planters look very weird, this chart has SO much backstitching in those trailing roses and other plants, metallic threads
and petite seed beads
so many teeny tiny beads (don’t ask why they’re just floating in the air over those leaves. I have no idea about that design choice, I just followed the chart)
and just a few regular seed beads on her hair and gloves
BTW, if you think the fabric in that first photo looks darker at the top and bottom that’s because it is, it isn’t just weird lighting. The way the linen is woven it just has a lighter section in the middle.
One of the largest projects I've done. She was very fun, lots of beads and fun flosses! One day I will do more pretty lady projects.
