Why does it need to be Miriallia? What makes her so special from everyone else?

Miriallia is unlike any girl I’ve ever met. I know she doesn’t care about me because of the uniform I wear, or how I look…I tried to shoot her ship down for months, I was the most heartless, racist, arrogant asshole I could’ve possibly been to her and yet she found it in her to forgive me- to give me a chance even if I didn’t deserve it.

I used to think all Naturals hated Coordinators and wanted us wiped out, and I didn’t even think twice about killing when I was on the battlefield if it meant completing a mission. That changed when I met her. She showed me that all Naturals didn’t look at Coordinators like we were inhuman- that many of them didn’t care whether we were a Coordintor or not. She also made me realize how much impact I had on the battlefield with regards to the lives of others…

When I’m with her, I’m not a Coordinator-I’m just Dearka, which is really what a lot of us Coordinators want- to be accepted, to fit in.

But to be honest, I’m not exactly sure how I know it needs to be Miriallia. I do know, though, that she’s the girl that I sat awake thinking about when I was a prisoner on board the Archangel, when I returned to ZAFT and after she dumped me. And I also know that I’m a better person when she’s around, and to me, that’s what makes her more special than anyone I’ve ever met.
