any next to normal and hadestown fans here?
so i don't know how many people there are that are fans of both n2n and hadestown but
there's a few lyrics in "you don't know" that i was like WOAH HI ORPHEUS
first off: "do you know, do you know what it's like to die alive?"
obviously COMPLETELY different contexts and meanings but when i interpret it thinking about hadestown, it could represent for orpheus the grief he feels losing eurydice, especially because they're both doomed and he will never NOT know what it's like? i can probably explain it better but that's all i can think of atm.
but especially this: "when tomorrow terrifies you, but you'll die if you look back"
this one feels obvious. you could technically replace "you'll" with "she'll" and make it concrete, but if you don't it still makes sense because when he looks back, he loses the person who made him feel the happiest (imo).
anywho i think that's all, thank you for your time. again these are very different contexts and i cannot compare the characters' struggles.
