Vampire rant
Look. Yes, the "vampires couldn't see themselves in mirrors because they were made of silver" thing is fun, it's a nice bit of trivia. A real "the more you know" type sitch. Unlive and learn, you know. I get why that's fun to bring it up.
But do you really want vampire stories to observe that? Cause the result is just losing the mirror trope in anything set in modern times. Like what are you trying to accomplish here? make vampire stuff have one less trope? Do you want to take away he symbolism of not being able to see your own soulless reflection cause of the shifting production standards of the mirror industry?? What's next, tying their transformations to the migration paths of specific bat species? gauging lease contracts to verify who's allowed to invite them in?
nevermind, these sound fun, I'm pretty sure the vampire diaries did the last one, but stiiiill, let vampires keep the mirror thing. It's neat. If mythology is just a bunch of psychic tulpas with their strengths and weaknesses decided by the collective consciousness then every mirror works if we believe every mirror works. Maybe the whole silver thing is a vampire psy-op to get their reflections back, ever think about that??
wait actually someone please write that
