Bethany spots her old companion as she rounds a corner to duck out of sight of a large group looking to cause trouble with anyone who came across them. She’s still got her three fireballs for the day, but Bethany isn’t keen to use them in a fight that would only end in her death anyway.
She rushes over to the elf and automatically positions herself protectively so that she’s between Merrill and anyone who may have seen her come this way. “This isn’t the happy reunion I’d like, but I suppose this city is determined to never be happy.”
A glance over her shoulder to make sure no one’s coming, then Bethany takes a good look at her. “Are you injured? I work at a bar a couple of blocks away that doubles as a sort of refugee camp. If you can handle the....very fast walk there, I can help. You’ll be safe there.”
