I want to make my Baba a misbaha for Christmas (i know how that sounds) and unfortunately I don't know a lot about them. I looked it up on wiki, 99 beads, a tessel, barrels and commas. But it's not super clear on what each part (other than the 99 beads) stand for.

I wanted to ask

1) can I make a misbaha? - would it still count if I make the beads myself and the tessel? - is there a ritual/prayer needed to make it legit?

2) is there specific designs, shapes or colours it needs to be or can it vary?

3) if anyone want to share with me their own misbaha and why they like that one I would love to see them

Thank you so much for any help. My Baba is so difficult to get gifts for and when I asked what he wanted he just told me "Peace/Calm" and well that's kinda difficult to wrap up as a thank you for this year
