The closest I've seen any native person say is that settlers don't have an inherent right to be on North America &/or other native people would express that opinion. Feel like that's worth knowing when the first thing people jump to is displacement, regardless of validity.)
Whatever your opinion of that proposal is, imo phrasing it as a "return" is bullshit. If you told a European that you, an american/canadian was European they'd laugh you out of the room. Call it immigration, moving, eviction or displacement if you want, but it's not a return. That implies far more of a connection than actually exists.
