was listening to a podcast (5-4) about the Supreme Court case that overturned Colorado's ban on conversion therapy and the SC basically argued/agreed that practicing conversion therapy is a free speech issue, which is a fundamental misunderstanding of what therapy and mental health services are?? like they were heavily implying that therapy is just chitchat when it is actually HEALTHCARE. this is equivalent to saying licensed doctors should be able to tell patients to kill themselves as a substitute for providing treatment; conversion therapy is actively harmful and literally does increase suicide risk. but lgbtq+ issues aside it's fucking insane how many people still see mental health care as optional-- as a non essential privelage solely for those who can afford it-- and therapy as a non serious fun little hobby. it fundamentally miscategorizes mental illness as a silly little quirk instead of a potentially life threatening illness that is part of a person's health. anyway.

I did look it up still confused. honestly all these new system labels are so confusing @-@ did these exist 5-6 years ago and I somehow missed them back then? or are they new?? aaa that's beside the point though I was just curious how your plurality is for you if you wanna share :3
Hiiii yess!!! I'm not sure how long these labels have existed since I only had my plural realization in the last year or so. I have an interest in community made plural terms, so I often forget where the line is for known and unknown terms :)
So, being median means that we have less separation between us. We use different names and pronouns occasionally for vibes. The metaphor I see a lot with median plurals is two sides of the same coin, different but also inseparable and part of one whole. I (Misc/Sours) am a front stuck host, so we don't really do the classic switches. That's also where the monoconsciousness comes in. It's described as sharing a consciousness instead of separate like more 'classic' systems. Switches are usually explained as more fluid. For us, it's more like an angel/devil on the shoulder situation. If that makes any sense? I hope it does. We also don't have an innerworld/headspace due to aphantasia.
