Retrospect: The Awakening Theory

In the trailer, there’s two shots of Orlaag with his Tribunal allies in the snowy wilderness.

In this, he’s probably looking at the same Falconback rockets that Mr. Salacia was observing the construction of in Rennovationklok’s end credits.

Here’s a brief theory on what the other (night time) shots pertain to:

This theory builds on the Season 1 DVD teaser - “Mephistopheles”.

Salacia’s been banished to the shadow realm or some shit and is trapped in stone for thousands of years as some kind of divine punishment.

Now here’s Orlaag (before the birth of the Tribunal), with a couple of soldiers accompanying him to perform some kind of ritual to awaken the Half Man from his stone prison. And clearly, the soldiers don’t trust whatever being that’s gonna come out of this statue.

This next shot is Salacia shortly after being reawakened. Body still adjusting to not being trapped for [what was probably] thousands of years, and quietly livid at what he went through. 

His hair and beard has grown long - a lot more unkempt than his usual cleaner appearance.

Also, look at his clothes: the last time those robes were in fashion was probably back in the Sumerian times. He’s been in there a while. 

In conclusion: these green-tinted shots are likely from Mr. Salacia’s backstory in the movie.
