Too Much To Do And Not Enough Danny
The solution was clones! Of course it was! Duplication was a gift from the gods, and Danny Fenton was now a very happy camper.
Need to fight your local nemesis? No problem, just split yourself like an ameba and tell your other self to take care of it while you desperately try to catch up with your studies.
Your parents want you dead? Oh, no. They don't want Danny Fenton dead! They just want to obliterate Phantom! Surely, giving them a decoy to shoot at would distract them for enough time for them to forget about Danny setting off the newest anti-ghost alarm.
Another decoy serves Danny well as he runs away from home - from the combined powers of the GIW and his mad parents - and his rogues - and Sam after Danny broke up with her and she went absolutely apeshit-
Danny even got into the habit of splitting himself in Gotham! Everyone in the US knows that rent was dirt cheap in this city, and he'd managed to get several jobs under his belt. No one here bats an eye when there's too many Danny’s because they already have a surplus of blue-eyed, black-haired children!
At this rate, he may actually afford a better place for himself and not a literal hole in the wall of a dilapidated building, so hurray for hopeful endings!
... And this is all good and well. But! What Danny doesn't know is that many of his decoy clones were never actually killed (just lightly stabbed, electrocuted, sliced in half, liquefied, trapped inside literal nightmares for a whole year, etc) and are still around. They definitely had a grudge against the original, and also... They... may have been accidentally adopted? Separatedly? By one Wayne or the other? As they followed their original into Gotham?
How does that work? How does seeking revenge turn into a parody of a family comedy? The clones are confused.
In an astounding turn of events, Red Hood may be the exception to the adoption contagion, since the clone he'd grabbed had managed to kill the Joker by accident and the clone was now in the process of being serenaded by the big, bad crime lord.
(The Red Hood was an excellent cook. This one may be the clone that got the jackpot.)
