I surprisingly just watched most of a CNN Spotlight episode about Miley Cyrus. Not only did I hear her life story but listened as the narrator said that her twerk was a trademark and also calling her the "queen of twerk". Just another example of a component in black culture being ignored and taken credit for by white culture. I really shouldn't be this surprised about Miley Cyrus being given undue credit for twerking. Maybe it's because I thought CNN Spotlight was supposed to be a factual show.

Misconception

her mind flips and turns

her heart yearns for hope and love

yet she looks under the dark stars never in hopes arms

shes a dreamer with high hopes

but she only sees half of her life  grow

she daydreams on her one to be

only to find that she is lonely

she over thinks and over plans schedules not needed

her expectations are way to high

her only desire is to know her big show

where she flys across the room with an urge to live

with a desire to learn more

a tinkle in where her eyes and lips speak truth at all times and cost

the beauty within her is more than the ugly

the ugly is only seasonal

but the results of a hardwark done

is something is will be praised for

she only wanted to enjoy her life with rejoice

and go through the hard confusing times with wisdom taking the next step

she pushes doors open to her

and screams freedom when death is at her door

the best thing is she is stronger than before

she takes a glance at something she will never understand

and its love that is never ending
