I’ve never listened to Skindred before this past month. There are several songs from their current album that are worthy of adding to regular rotation. This one is really standing out for me. It has several great hooks, including a dance-worthy rhythm, and some interesting prose/rap in the middle. Check it out, worth a spin :-)

This song has a little more of a classic country vibe than I originally expected, even with the tone from her first release in mind. However, Dorothy's powerful and haunting vocals electrify the notes coming up behind her. There is a solid, funky baseline that really seems to ramp the chorus up a notch. Again, some of the most passionate music is telling a story, what is your ability to convey that story without bashing people over the head with the obvious. Does your passion and ability to tell the story remain open enough so many of us can relate ourselves. This song succeeds in some parts, but not completely. Although, it is clear this is a story about Dorothy. While not completely Flawless, this tune comes pretty close.
