Okay Misty lore drop (mostly about what it is they do, I’ll talk about their personality and relationship with my other oc Melanie some other time)
Misty or Misinthos is a neutral god and part of the lords + Webby family, they’re considered the Liege in Gray (I figured if the boys are evil and the girl is good, the only logical gender for a morally gray deity oc is for them to be nonbinary /hj). They’re associated with fog/mist and the stuff they do as a god involves truths and lies, secrets, confusion, and insanity. Because of their interest in secrets they can sort of be an informant for others, helping their family get information or giving humans knowledge for a price tm.

They’re the middle child because I thought it would be funny, and I think they have like shark traits because idk I wanted them to be a fish. Their main color is technically indigo but they are not consistent about it, frequently changing their outfit and dying the streaks in their hair a variety of colors. They dress in scenecore fashion mostly, I wouldn’t label it as their only aesthetic but it’s their main inspiration for outfits. There’s no real explanation for this, it’s just that something about this serious and sort of depressed eldritch deity dressing in some bright ass Pinterest board ass scenecore clothing is funny to me + the fits go hard.
They have a realm/domain called The Eternal Fog. It looks like the human reality but constantly foggy, and shifting around strangely. It can look like any place from reality, but usually looks like environments the human who enters is familiar with, like a childhood home or the town they currently live in. It’s (usually) devoid of other people with the exception of visions and monsters that appear and torment the person using a combination of truth, lies, fears, and desires.
Back when they were evil (cause they used to be evil and not neutral- forgot to mention) they’d typically just trap people in there and either drive them insane before just letting them go because funny, or end up killing them. If someone dies/succumbs to the Eternal Fog, Misty can turn their spirit into a servant of sorts. These spirits aren’t mind controlled, they have free will and their own personalities and likes and dislikes, but they are primed to worship, serve, and help Misty. Even when Misty would rather they just leave them alone and not act like Misty’s above them (foreshadowing)
These days they don’t really just trap people without warning, and in the rare case they do they usually avoid causing permanent damage, and now escape is actually possibly instead of it being rigged?! There’s actually findable exits now?! (The bar is in hell and Misty will still find ways to trip over it, but it’s still an improvement). But more often they’ll offer deals, giving someone a challenge to survive the Eternal Fog (either by surviving for a certain amount of time or by finding an exit) in exchange for a reward if they win. They’re upfront about this being dangerous and try to be “fair” about the deals.
If they’re in the mood they may occasionally do something for free.
In terms of how their existence would affect the Hatchetfield story, they honestly don’t do much. They wouldn’t appear in any of the three musicals though I picture there being a reference to them in NPMD. They’d have some type of Nightmare Time episode (probably in season one) where they’d take an antagonistic role after the other main character (either an oc I may come up with or I’ll just pick someone from canon) agreed to a challenge. I think they’d also appear in Witch In the Web either trying to help the good guys or not really helping either side and just kind of being around. (I need to rewatch Witch In The Web though)
I also kind of picture them maybe being responsible for the “ghosts” appearing in Working Boys. It feels like the kind of insanity stuff that fits their associations and one of my mutuals has a Hidgens RP account that’s been interacting with my Misty RP account (@the-liege-in-gray btw). But that’s a maybe since that’s objectively evil and unprompted, which isn’t normally how they operate. Maybe one of their brothers convinced them or someone wanted them to do that as part of a deal? or maybe they just got a little silly idk

Text in the image mostly sums it up, design used in the middle and right drawings is the design I’m going to use as at least the baseline for any art going forward, drawing on the left was more just a demonstration of the fact they like to change up their hair color and outfit (and a way to show they have webbed hands and a tail), don’t expect the left outfit to appear again (though I do like the black book symbol top ngl. Even though I fucked it up and didn’t make the bottom point thicker like the actual book symbol is).
I hope this design at least kind of shows the fact they like scenecore? It’s not a hard aesthetic they follow but I want them to have some elements of it
I also hope it shows their main color is technically indigo and not gray? The grey thing is more of just a morality stance thing than an actual main color, the lords don’t even wear black!
Also the fluff on their cape is meant to look like clouds, cause of their whole fog/smoke/mist thing, I feel like it would look like clouds trailed off it or something
Anyway funfact they usually have their hair up in a ponytail because when down the long light colored hair looks like another member of the family just a little bit
