OC 60 Questions Meme (Accepting)
5: Are they right- or left-handed?
Kusu is ambidextrous. He was bored and decided to see if he could teach himself to use his other hand and he did.
Hyper is lefthanded.
10: Where did they learn most of their skills and other abilities?
Kusu has learned an incredible amount from experience, curiosity, and sheer boredom. His mind is never still and he will investigate anything that catches his fancy until he feels like he has a good grasp of it or it bores him and then move on to the next thing. He would get lost down the Wikipedia hole SO easily, although he still prefers physical books. A lot of his medical knowledge was learned in China, some in India and many of his demon slaying skills come from Hyper actually.
Hyper has always had an interest in combat so he pushed himself to train diligently since he was young. Some of his powers are his own although others he learned from other gods.
15: Who has had the most influence on them?
For Kusu, it’s been Hyper, which is kind of unavoidable. He doesn’t like it but they’re bound irreversibly by fate now so he’s trying to make the best of it. A close second would probably be his younger sister when he was human. They were always close as sibling and she was the reason his father finally (grudgingly) agreed to let him study medicine.
Hyper would never admit it but Kusu has had an influence on him. He’s started to think a little more critically about his impulses and how his actions affect people but he’s very set in his ways.
20: What is their worst memory?
Kusu’s worst memory is the night he first touched the demon slaying sword. He spent it scared, hungry and with another person suddenly inside his head and it was not a good time. He’s seen a lot of bad shit since then but none of it has affected him so personally.
For Hyper it was definitely when he was forced into the sword. A lot of people he’d trusted betrayed him and he’s still mad about that. It’s not that he didn’t deserve it or that he was actually a good friend to any of them but that’s how he perceives it.
25: Is there anything they absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
Hmm… This is something I’m honestly not sure about for Kusu. It’s probably situational. I don’t think it would even occur to him not to be an opaque snarky bastard most of the time tho XD
Hyper would at one time have said that his honor would never allow him to physically hurt or kill a woman but he’s starting to question how much good that determination has done him.
30: Do they trust anyone to protect them? Who, and why?
Already answered!
35: What do they most value in their friends?
Kusu appreciates, if not intelligence, then definitely curiosity and personal drive.
Hyper values a large capacity for alcohol and a low capacity to ask inconvenient questions when shenanigans are suggested.
40: What is their idea of good entertainment?
Kusu loves theater. Noh, Kabuki, Kamishibai, Cinema, he loves the world beyond the world encapsulated on the stage and on the silver screen.
Hyper likes music, dancing, drinking and generally carousing.
45: Which talent would they most like to have?
Kusu would very much like to sometimes feel less for people. He started out as a sensible empathetic person and he doesn’t like how jaded he’s become after so many years of killing mononoke. He still feels for the people he’s obligated to help but there’s a much larger sense of resentment than there used to be. Basically he’s suffering burnout and he’d like a break from the feels please.
Hyper would like to know how to snowboard. It looks like a lot of fun but since he doesn’t have anything in the way of a body right now hes a bit SOL.
50: Are they generally introverted or extroverted?
Kusu… falls on a bit of a spectrum. It depends very much on his mood. He’s not fond of large crowds or parties in terms of being social but he doesn’t mind/could enjoy spending time with one or two very close people. He also doesn’t mind spending time alone left to his own devices. He’s good at occupying himself in a satisfying way so he’s not bothered by solitude.
Hyper is extremely extroverted and has a ton of energy to go out and do things. All the things. He’d be the sort of person who would dump everything he owned and travel around the world by hitch-hiking just for funsies. Which, is kind of what he’s doing now but this is not at all what he had in mind :[
55: What is the trait they most deplore in themself?
Kusu hates how critical he is of people. It makes his job easier but it also makes it more difficult for him to see people in a positive light. Even when he was human it made making friendships difficult and he’s always been frustrated with himself for that.
Hyper doesn’t like how easily he can hurt people emotionally without realizing it.
60: On what occasions do they lie?
All the goddamn time. Kusu is very much of the opinion that if it will get him the information he needs, lying is absolutely a viable tool. Anywhere from a flat out lie to a subtle twisting or exclusion of the truth to a bit of illusion, if it makes his job easier, he’ll probably do it.
Hyper will lie if it’s a bit of a tiny little stretch of the truth, inconsequential really, no one will notice. Especially if it’ll impress the ladies or anyone else he wants to notice.
