@missallanea asked: "that's a frying pan. right there. can you see it?" / Baby bird @ Stolas
They were on the roof of the palace, sitting on the pillows he'd covered with a blanket that Stolas had set out earlier. Via hadn't stayed up this late just yet, and he knew it was a big deal for her. He'd promised to show her the stars, and the night had finally come.
She hadn't quite made it all the way to midnight, but he'd promised if she fell asleep, he'd wake her up.
That gave him enough time to get everything set up perfectly so he could make sure it was a good surprise for his little girl. He got the telescope all focused and set up, to make sure they didn't have to waste time when they should be looking at the stars.
Stolas scooped Via into his arms, and opened a portal to the roof, stepping out into the little observatory he'd created.
"Starfire," he murmurs, stroking a hand over her little headfeathers, opening a portal to the heavens. "It's time to wake up, time to see the stars."
He watches as she let out a little yawn, one hand lifting to rub at her eyes as she wakes up, immediately perking up when he mentions seeing the stars.
Stolas had showed her how to use the telescope before, and she went right up to it, looking through it to spot the constellations she knew.
"that's a frying pan. right there. can you see it?" Via says, and Stolas couldn't keep the smile from his face if he tried.
"I do, my sweet girl!" he exclaims, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "That's called the Plough," Stolas added, looking down at her, so proud he felt like he could burst. "Do you know which stars are in it, Starfire?"
