Well if we’re talking mundane groceries naturally he’s a pro. He knows how to bargain hunt and pick the best ingredients and peers at the marketing of big companies because he’s suspicious that they’re screwing the world over, thus buys a lot of locally farmed stuff to be a local hero

If we’re looking at object shopping, you can bet your butt he knows the nearest hardware store inside out and pulls a Ron Swanson “I know more than you” when assistants try to show him around. Ditto electronics (he’s very disgruntled to come back to the past and have to search through all our primitive technology)

Clothes shopping, though, he is E rank at. Rin drags him around to make sure he’s professionally and nicely dressed, because otherwise he would still own three versions of the same shirt, one pair of jeans and a jacket. Some things never change
