He was no stranger to nightmares. They had plagued him since he was young, his mind releasing the fears he didn’t allow himself to express. The horrors he saw as a child and suffered through.
Draze sat up, panting, mind reeling from the latest nightmare. No matter how many times he thinks he’s seen it all, his subconscious could always find a new way to strike terror into the wyvern lord’s heart.
“Damnit...” he muttered, pushing himself off of bed, simply wanting out. Out of this room. To somewhere he could breathe and get away from what he had witnessed in his sleep.
Luckily for him, the Emperor’s quarters lead out to a hallway, open as it overlooked the gardens. The cold night air was soothing to his heated frame, and without him thinking about it, the redhead had found himself resting over the ledge, amber eyes glazed as he just sought relaxation. And, for the most part, he got what he wished. The moonlight was gentle on his face, and the silence was calming.
A familiar voice makes him raise his head, and looks over, the faintest of smiles gracing his lips.
“Milady Lacie, you shouldn’t be up this time.”
